A few days after two senior aides in New England, the other shoe drops on Herman Cain in Iowa:
Herman Cains Iowa Director, Tina Goff, told TheIowaRepublican.com that she has submitted her resignation and is no longer working for the campaign. In addition to Goffs resignation, TheIowaRepublican.com can confirm that Kevin Hall has also left the campaign. Hall served as Cains Straw Poll coordinator.
Goff and Hall both worked on Fred Thompsons presidential campaign in 2008 and Iowa Governor Terry Branstads campaign in 2010. Goff stated that she resigned because the Cain campaign refused to make a serious effort in Iowa, the home of the First-in-the-Nation caucuses.
Cain spokeswoman Ellen Carmichael told POLITICO a few days ago that the New Hampshire staff would be replaced in short order. Cain has not yet released his quarterly fundraising numbers.
“Think hard. Has anyone heard of Cain holding a fund raiser?”
Well, he had an end-of-the-quarter money bomb, email request, he was on Hannity tonight for half and hour, and there is a spectacular new ad out.

He’s the only one so far who seems to be tough enough to use Obama’s own words against him, so maybe the ones who are leaving are some of the “party” or “establishment” types who don’t really want to see real change.
Just had lunch with the Nevada Cain representative, who is a friend. She seemed pretty gung ho.
Ya know, you can't even find a Cain fund raiser on google.
An upstart with no organization, as any elected official has, could test the waters with a web site that takes donations.
He could use his own funds to start.
He could solicit volunteers.
He could borrow bucks.
Usually, the candidate relies on a benevolent backer to hold fundraisers in his name. Some that the candidate appears at.
Eventually, the candidate has to raise some bucks.
Looks like for one reason or another, Mr. Cain has a money problem. His staff weren't being paid and saw the handwriting on the wall.
I put Cain in the Alan Keyes category. Confucius always wanted to be a civil servant. The Mandarins wouldn't let him in. He became a teacher. Cain is a Conservative Confucius. Like Alan Keyes, pure Conservative destined to spread the word, never allowed into the club.
He didn't start at the bottom (of the movement).

No serious effort? He's third in the Des Moines Register poll there.
If no serious effort had been made, would he have reached 3rd while passing more prominent persons ?
You wouldn't know it to watch CBS.
They "white washed" Cain out of its "Face The Nation" report on the poll entirely and instead claimed the tied pair Gingrich and Paul took third place rather than Cain.
” Ya know, you can’t even find a Cain fund raiser on google. “ =======
To me, this is kind of a bombshell which forces one to take it to the next level—as in...what’s his motive for even running? Good grief.
Plenty of his own money used, no mention of fund raisers, mailers cancelled.

God, I hope not, Cain better be better than that.
In hindsight, perhaps. But this forum had a different opinion of Alan Keyes in 1999-2000. In Iowa, he finished 3rd, drawing 14 percent.

That was a long time ago.
I always thought he was probably OK and may grow into something important, but he never grabbed me for some reason, then in the mid 90s my mother mailed me a tape on him (she liked him a lot), so I started looking at him closer.
I tried to like him but my street antennae kept tingling whenever I focused on him.
The years have shown that he is just a conman, or cult leader, or both I guess.
In retrospect.
He did leave a lot of unpaid bills.
Nevertheless, he was a spellbinding orator on our side.

If you notice, he doesn’t seem to have any real purpose in mind, no real change he is trying to lead to, no goal that he is raising an army to conquer, instead he does what he does, orate, run for President, collect donations. The decades go by and he merely shows up, runs for President, orates a little and collects his money.
Do you realize that he ran for President in THREE different political parties within a matter of months in 2008?
...consider the sourcing....
and he's just had a good fund-raising event.
pssst....they're in OBahbah's corner.
He had a money bomb on 6/27. Another one is scheduled for July 4th.
Check out the website and Join Team Cain to get in on the action behind the headlines.
Cain just got done doing a money bomb. He is also running 3rd in IA. Have faith...
BTW, for the people freaking out about him losing the Thompson IA coordinator...how did that work out for Fred? If memory serves me correctly, he came in 3rd or 4th in IA. So, no big loss to Herman there.
Here is an American Spectator link for those who are denouncing Cain on here. He has raised over 2.46 MILLION in this quarter (starting from 0); he has NO campaign debt (huge) and he is preparing to hire more staff. So, what is the problem? Oh wait, he isn’t the sexy choice on here...never mind.
your point is well taken, He's part of the
un-washed / Fly-over voting populace
despised by the Washington DC (Cocktail Party Crowd) Elitists
Those that are afraid that Herman's growing popularity will create more of a challenge for their own candidates are going to be cheerleaders for a Herman failure. Herman is about success!!
Cain just released his Q2 numbers, he has raised 2.6 million.
And he has been to Iowa 21 times since his campaign started.
Without going into detail, I can only say that Goff (and Hall’s) resignations will do nothing but help his campaign.
I expect his campaign should start taking off at this point.
