A few days after two senior aides in New England, the other shoe drops on Herman Cain in Iowa:
Herman Cains Iowa Director, Tina Goff, told TheIowaRepublican.com that she has submitted her resignation and is no longer working for the campaign. In addition to Goffs resignation, TheIowaRepublican.com can confirm that Kevin Hall has also left the campaign. Hall served as Cains Straw Poll coordinator.
Goff and Hall both worked on Fred Thompsons presidential campaign in 2008 and Iowa Governor Terry Branstads campaign in 2010. Goff stated that she resigned because the Cain campaign refused to make a serious effort in Iowa, the home of the First-in-the-Nation caucuses.
Cain spokeswoman Ellen Carmichael told POLITICO a few days ago that the New Hampshire staff would be replaced in short order. Cain has not yet released his quarterly fundraising numbers.
” Darn! “ ===
Darn works.
Goff worked for Thompson. Rollins works for Bachman. At this point I believe I’d vote for anyone who doesn’t hire the same old GOP operatives.
Cain is beating Newt, Pawlenty, and Huntsman in the polls. And a few others.
How can this guy be in trouble? He’s a genius!
Next go the sauce and cheese...
He might be waiting on Palin.
If they worked for Fred Thompson , they should be used to losing.
He is probably a good guy, but these guys that are so full of themselves that they can only start at President, annoy me.
Do any of these would be Presidents ever go back after the humiliating defeat and run for a less spectacular office?
Fine man.
I hope whoever is elected uses him in some capacity.
Mark Levin was saying Politico often gets it wrong.
I’d like to hear Cain’s side of the story.
Polls this early doesn’t mean much. Deep in the campaign cycle the wheat will be separated from the chaff and we will know who rises to the top
“How can this guy be in trouble? Hes a genius!”
It’s name recognition I suspect. Money gets his message out of the city limits and improves all things. With the base he is doing just fine. This man has a future no matter what, and I hope it is in DC. We need more Herman Cains’.
Think hard. Has anyone heard of Cain holding a fund raiser?
yitbos
This is his second round of Iowa staffers to quit or resign. He lost his first staffers less than a month ago, these two were the replacements and now they are gone. He also lost his NH staff too. Triple death spiral.
And that has never worked, in the entire history of our country. All U.S. presidents, every single one of them, previously served in at least one of these six offices:
Vice-President
Governor
Senator
Representative
Cabinet Secretary
General
I don’t know, probably not.
I think Cain is a valuable member of a dream cabinet that has a lot of experience to bring. At the very least, this will raise his stature when it comes time for the President-Elect to name their cabinet.
Why doesn’t obama’s staff resign?
“Mr. Cain, are you a flake?” ;’)
Thanks BAW.
Because they are enjoying the ride...and will bail when they see his sinking ship..as many have done already.
” Think hard. Has anyone heard of Cain holding a fund raiser? “ ====
Come to think of it, you’re right. Haven’t heard of a single fund raiser that I can recall. Hmmmm. So, what’s up with that?
