TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- A defiant Moammar Gadhafi threatened Friday to carry out attacks in Europe against "homes, offices, families," unless NATO halts its campaign of airstrikes against his regime in Libya.

The Libyan leader, sought by the International Criminal Court for brutally crushing an uprising against him, delivered the warning in an audio message played to thousands of supporters gathered in the main square of the capital Tripoli.

I won’t fault him if he does. There’s no rule that says even a dictator has to sit back and take it when someone wages war against him.

He was attacked first. This technically would be defense.

Uh oh. Now they got him mad. Sure glad he stopped his nuke program.

Now who did that?

Thanks Free ThinkerNY.

That's what's known as fair warning. Wild guess, he'll have plenty of help in the UK, France, and even Germany.

Well, now’s probably a good time. Obama’s on a long holiday weekend already and can’t do anything to help Europe until the office opens up on Tuesday morning.

Qaddafi was no saint, but it seems he had given up his terrorist ways and his WMD. His sons in particular were looking to open to the West.

Then the excuse of the “Arab Spring” was used to start a war against him to install a more pliant Libyan Government for the UK and France.

Who can blame him if he fights back?

One of the most pathetic attempts of a smash and oil grab on record . It is getting more difficult for the Brits and the French to secure their much needed low cost oil . If Q goes after BP’s rigs an infrastructure look for $20 gas in old Europe.

I remember a General Custer going to Little Big Horn to Kick a little Indian tail. Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse took it a little “personal”.

That was a similar kinetic military action if I recall correctly, with gold as a distraction.

The UK gets almost no oil from Libya. The US gets a significant amount: - more than France

Hope this is helpful.

If anyone needed further proof that we are actually living in the initial days of the novel “1984”, this is it. Does anybody remember when the war in Iraq was “blood for oil”, and that any attacks on the US by Muslim terrorists were justified by our foreign policies? Europeans almost universally decried our war-mongering and called the US a terrorist nation? That was only 3 years ago, but now that our leftist messiah is in office, we can bomb the bejeezus out of any country we want, for no apparent reason, and everything is OK! Our European friends will even push us aside so they can get a few bombs in! Our Dear Leader is showing his tremendous leadership and courage! We have always been at war with Eastasia, and ignorance is strength!

“He was attacked first. This technically would be defense.”

Is this allowed under the rules of engagement for a “Kinetic Military Action”?

I don't know about Obama's rules, but right now IMHO Libya would be within rights to drop a bomb right on the Pentagon. It wouldn't be a terrorist action, it would be a legitimate retaliatory military strike against unprovoked aggression. Thanks, Obama, for making the US the illegal aggressor.

As big as a thug this guy is—I can’t say I differ with you. Are we expected to be outraged when someone shoots back at us because we attacked them first?
