The White House says an off-color remark about President Barack Obama by MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin was inappropriate.
Halperin said during an appearance Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he thought Obama "was a dick yesterday." The Time magazine editor at large was talking about Obama's performance at a White House news conference on Wednesday.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the comment was an inappropriate thing to say about any president.

Doesn’t this fall under the rubric of “calling a spade a spade”?
As much as I hate Obama, the comment made by Halperin on TV was wrong. I don’t believe that kind of language has any place on TV. He could have made his point using a more sophisticated use of language. I would expect more from a “professional”.
Halperin got screwed.
He asked if the delay was working. Mika egged Halperin on. The show’s producer told Halperin it was working and to go ahead. Then Scarborough jumped in and told Halperin he had his back.
It was only then that Halperin made the comment.
I heard that MSNBC was not going to do anything to Halperinh until they received a call from the White House.
Family hour and Day Time TV is full of filthy foul mouth garbage....this remark was nothing compared to some of that crap and also True
The View
The crap show with Sheen
MTV
need more?
Schultz calls Ingraham a slut and got a one week suspension, Halperin calls Obama a dick and gets suspended indefinitely.
“the comment was an inappropriate thing to say about any president.”
He should have just said the president acted stupidly.
Don’t watch any of that. And I doubt many of us think the argument “but everyone else does it” makes it okay. I would expect an adult professional journalist to not sound like a middle school boy. All that is not to say I don’t completely agree with Halperin.
I think it falls under “you are what you eat.”
Sophisticated and classy went out the window long ago. Halperin used a very appropriate word, IMHO.
Halperin should not have used that word. “J@ck A%%” is more accurate.
Isn't that racist these days?
Actually, Obama is less the “d-—” and more of a “phallus receptacle”!(or at least he is turning America into the the world’s “PR”)
Dick Obama has a certain ring to it.
He should change his name from Barack to Dick.
“Barack Obama in 2008”
“Dick Obama in 2012”
Dick Obama and Tony Weiner
They have a lot of tradition to uphold.
who said every one does its OK? Not me, and, you dont watch any of that....you need to watch some of that so you can gain some insight as to the type of crap that is being peddeled during day time and prime time long before the rug rats go to bed........You will be amazed......
I dont “watch” CNN or MSNBC either but do tune in just to see what the loons on the other side so I can defend my points of view with some amount of certainty.
There, fixed.
Ouch! LOL!
Cheers!
