One of the whistleblowers who brought the massive Gun Walker scandal to light, ATF Special Agent Vince Cefalu, was terminated after a thirty-year career last week the day after House Oversight chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a warning letter to the Bureau, demanding a promise that there would be no retaliatory firings of whistleblowers.
Ironically, one of the reasons given for Cefalus termination was a lack of candor. He was previously turned into a desk ornament for daring to become a vocal critic of an illegal wiretap. Since he spoke up about Gun Walker, he spent most of his time changing batteries or filling cars with gas. He has described Operation Fast and Furious, designed to flood Mexico with American guns, as a violation of the law, maintaining there was no intent to follow the guns this never had a chance of succeeding.
It doesnt sound like Cefalu suffers from a lack of candor. Perhaps hes recalcitrant by the boisterous standards of the ATF, where things are rowdy due to all the alcohol and tobacco.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post so helpful to the Administration at key moments in the Gun Walker saga ran an astonishing editorial this week, in which they tried to finger the gun-rights lobby as the true culprit behind this rogue ATF operation. The Post mourned the reductions in the ATFs meager budget and restricted ability to share information with other law enforcement agencies brought about by the NRA and certain lawmakers, who are concerned to the point of paranoia about the erosion of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
You know what is demonstrably not paranoia? The fear that youll be walking down a street in Mexico and get blown away by a gun supplied by the Bureau of Alcohol,...

How can the gun rights lobby be behind something like this, when it was the anti-gun party holding both houses and the White House at the time this went down?
Call me skeptical. The RINO’s don’t have the guts to pursue anything. Obama has broke the law soooo many times and they dont do anything. Obama turned the whitehouse into a campaign video (last week), clearly in violation of the law and nobody said a dam^ thing.
Here we go, the gun clinger argument rears its ugly paranoia head. No, we are not gun clingers but sensible people who protect their free speech and lives. And if the language is that of thinking of us as self cornering people, then this language is adopted by a bunch of self cornering idiots who make for very dangerous intentions to try to corner people. The self fufilling prophets of the media and bureaucracies keep digging the grave of "officialdomic" narcissism.
It’s the baby argument, I am all too humane, everybody else’s fault, when things go wrong... while when I am elected and everything is right, it is all to my credit.
Meanwhile homosexualoid RINOs keep trying to phallic up that turd into something solid, but the rain is melting the crap in their very own hands, and the crap is Zero and the democrates themselves.
After this ridicule show of the GOP, in their idiot corner of non action, it’s going to be 1929 or post Maddoff style suicides.
In a liberal's fevered imagination, the eeeeeviiiil gun lobby has magical powers.
I’m not sure what drug you are on, but it surely produces nice fantasies.
The democrats had their own hearings today called by Elijah Cummings with Chuck Shumer calling for more gun control.
Obama talks "Fast and Furious" ATF scandal
This week, the Senate confirmed three Obama-nominated Justice Department officials in a deal that will give Congressional investigators access to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms documents that have been withheld for months. The bigger part of the deal, however, is that ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson will provide a "transcribed interview" to Republican and Democratic investigators in mid-July.IMHO, Issa in the House and Grassley in the Senate have become a nice tag team.
NOTHING will happen here.
Mexico is now talking extradition. I’m looking forward to the direct linkage to 0bambi.
See comment# 10. ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson may have to sing to save his butt.
This scam has media involvement. My take. It was a co-ordinated anti-gun PR scam involving Obama and the DNC and their allies in the media. If anyone recalls the Lib media reporting at the time. This is rooted in the gun control wing of the DNC.
The Senate. They trade 3 new communists in power positions for something they could just subpoena in the House? This will get swept under the media rug.
LOL! Not gonna happen. He's the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the United States. Plus he's a member of the protected class.

“Mexico is now talking extradition.”
Can you give us some more info on that?
I haven’t understood why Mexico isn’t bitching about this.
Ok, I do sort of understand it. I can see why Mexico doesn’t want to pick a fight with the US Gov’t.
But still.
Is the alien-looking creature to Holder’s right the not-Sen. from NY, Caroline Kennedy?
It was said on Special Report With Bret Baier. It’s late tonight but I’ll try to find corroborating reports in the morning. Issa and Grassely can get tough and start telling the higherups at ATF and Justice that they can either testify or they’ll approve some extradition papers and send their arses down Mexico way. How ‘bout dem apples? ;-)
