DENVER -- A man accused of stabbing a puppy five times in the face has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey said he filed charges Thursday against Matthew Davonn Weatherspoon. The 19-year-old is being held in jail on $2,000 bond and is due in court for an advisement hearing July 6.
Weatherspoon is accused of stabbing a 6-month-old American Bulldog five times in its head and face and then putting it outside. A passerby found the dog and called police.
Weatherspoon told KUSA-TV the dog attacked him and cornered him in his apartment. He says he had no choice but to defend himself. A veterinary hospital says the puppy had surgery and is in intensive care.
Dat bitch done dissed me, dog - noam sayin’?
“.....against Matthew Davonn Weatherspoon. The 19-year-old....”

I’m sure somewhere this ass-clown saw it done on some violent video game. And things turned out fine then, so.....
They should put his head in a stockade and let the Bulldog rip away.
Sooner or later some asshat will show up here and claim “The owner has the right to do what he wishes with his private property” or some such bravo sierra.
Just a short step from this to stabbing people, I’d say.

Who's to say that hasn't already happened?
Interesting... Earlier this year a Denver police officer shot and killed a poodle when answering an alarm call, lots if folks upset but the cop was not charged as is usually the case...
Looks like another one of “Holders People.”
I hope the same thing happens to him.
Dat bee the weatherspoons boy dere!
That was confusing, are you saying we don’t have a right to do with our private property as we wish?
Not exactly.
But there is a small, (thankfully), contingent of Freepers who show up in these cruelty-to-dog threads and declare that the dog owner has an absolute right to treat their property, (i.e. the dog), in any manner they wish....including killing or being cruel to the dog.
I find such attitudes revolting.
I agree with you. Our God-given dominion over the animals includes our responsibility to perform good animal husbandry. Abuse of animals is a violation of that responsibility, without question.
And before anyone mentions eating them, I’ll say that humane slaughter is important as well, and yes, I’m a flesh eater.
Dam% Mennonites!
I don’t remember anyone saying such a thing, can you point me to where that was said?
Mostly I rmember Freepers wanting to kill the perp.
Gotta love the Trailer Park Boys...
Isn’t that the truth? These threads always bring out the abusers and those who justify them. Truly sickening.
