BAGHDAD Three U.S. service members were killed Wednesday in southern Iraq, adding to an already deadly month for U.S. forces here.
The deaths, reported early Thursday by the Defense Department, come six months before most American forces are scheduled to withdraw from the country. Further details were not immediately available pending notification of families, the military said.
Fifteen U.S. service members have either been killed or died in non-hostile incidents this month in Iraq, making it the deadliest month since 15 were killed in June 2009, according to iCasualties, which tracks U.S. military deaths.
Thirty-nine service members have died or been killed in Iraq so far in 2011.
Most recently, two soldiers were killed Sunday by an armor-piercing grenade that was lobbed at their vehicle in Diyala province. Another died Sunday in a non-hostile incident in southern Iraq, the military said.

Philadelphia had 32 shootings and 7 deaths in the last 3 day weekend period of Friday, Saturday, & Dunday.
Personally, I would feel safer in Iraq than in most any inner city liberal democrat cesspool in America today.
De-fund the cites - its a quagmire.
I’ll do my best. :)
The use of the term "NATO troops" is being substituted for American troops in preparation for the day when NATO troops will be "converted" to UN troops. All about dumbing down the sheep. Preparing for the eventual take-over all know (but most deny) is coming.
