Michele Bachmann says "John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa" and the media goes nuts. Ohhhhhhhh what an idiot, she confused John Wayne with John Wayne Gacy the serial killer. Ha ha ha.
Now comes word that yes indeed Clyde Morrison and his blushing bride Molly got married in . Waterloo, Iowa. And settled there.
Later moving to Winterset, Iowa. Where they had their bouncing baby boy ...Who grew up to become -- yes indeed -- John Wayne.
Not John Wayne Gacy.

Thanks for the update. I was up all night wondering where they were from.
Incredible how quickly the media can research every nuance of Michele Bachmann’s statements and point out the most subtle inconsistency, but Obama emits countless groaners and they go into the memory hole.
He refers to “my muslim faith” in a face-to-face one-on-one with a nationally prominent media personality, and that personality gently prompts him to correct his language, even suggesting the wording of that correction, and that’s that.
Obama got his own daughter’s age wrong? I would say that’s a bigger gaff than MB’s, although I doubt the MSM sees it that way.
"She clearly meant the actor, because otherwise it makes no sense to normal humans. The only people obsessed with serial killers, and criminals in general, are liberals that want them to vote. Are you one of them? By the by, how much did Obama grew the national debt today?"
Now, we have Bachmann supporters reviving the issue trying to argue that John Wayne's parents lived in Waterloo, so Bachmann wasn't really wrong. The problem is, that's not what she said;
Neither John Wayne nor John Wayne Gacey are from Waterloo. Both sides are spinning.
She should have simply said: “I made a mistake, he must have been from one of the other 57 states”
John Wayne Gacy did live in Waterloo for a while but wasn’t born there.
True. However Bachman has run her mouth as the one to beat.
“Obozo will beat here and it is sad if she cannot show where she did not propose to cut disabled Vets.”
*snicker*
Superior tagline Steely Tom.
Liberals are not normal people, otherwise they would think for themselves and not automatically parrot the liberal medial talking points.
With that epic flub on her resume’ the libs will be demanding that she pull out of the race. LOL!!
1) No sense of how to build a coalition - Ed Rollins being exhibit A and Bachmann's unwillingess to publicly acknowledge the problems Rollins has caused being exhibit B. If Palin does not enter the race, Bachmann is a natural crossover for Palin supporters. I have yet to see that either Bachmann or her supporters realize just how much Rollins has created a chasm for that movement if the opportunity arises. And she will not be a natural crossover for the establishment pubbies. She has to win on the right - and not alienate potential allies.
2) Not being prepared for what is likely to come. Bachmann stated on Fox News Sunday that she never got a penny from her father-in-laws farm. Her congressional filings indicate otherwise. She has to be preparted for such questions to answer then in such a manner that she doesn't raise even more questions - there may be an explaination for the discrepency, but she has not offered up one for it.
3) Making unforced errors. The John Wayne statement is a prime example. It was completely unneeded and unscripted. And it was a Youtube bonaza against her.
4) Not admitting she was wrong. See failure to aplogize publicly for Rollins and admitting her mistake in the John Wayne matter.
5) Thinking this will all go away if she pretends it doesn't exist. It won't.
Now I'm sure the usual suspects will be coming along to bash Palin and tell me I must want Romney or Obama to win.
Horsecrap. Bachmann should be a logical conservative option. But she has to show she understands what it takes to win more than a Congressional election. So far she hasn't, and there isn't a lot of time for a learning curve in this game.
I see part of my point 4 is wrong - Bachmann did admit a mistake on the John Wayne matter. Good, maybe she is learning from the mistakes.
I listened to part of her on Hannity today, and what troubled me is the overuse of the word ‘I’, including the claim she ‘I am a uniter’, meaning she’s said she’s uniting conservatives, libertarians, independents and some democrats.
You run to the middle AFTER you win the nomination. I don’t see Bachmann competing for the establishment vote to win the nomination.
John Wayne Gacy was a registered democrat.
