The Hashemite kingdom will vote against the Palestinian Authority's bid for a unilateral declaration of statehood by the United Nations in September, UAE-based al-Bayan reported Wednesday. "Jordan's top national interests will be in danger if the Palestinian Authority declares statehood unilaterally especially in everything related to the issue of refugees, water, Jerusalem, and the borders," a senior jordanian official told the paper on condition of anonymity.
The high-ranking official added a unilateral PA declaration of statehood at this time would be in Israel's best interest, as it wants the state to be established "within the borders of the separation fence" a move that would effectively erase the border between the Jordan and Judea and Samaria, which the kingdom vehemently rejects.
Israel, however, has made it clear it intends to maintain control of the Jordan Valley - and with it the Israeli side of the Jordan river - as a necessary security buffer, leading some observers to suggest Aman is mischaracterizing Israel's stance in order to dilute criticism of looking after its own interests vis-a-vis the PA.
The decision to oppose the PA statehood bid is, according to the official, "the beginning of the exposure of Jordan's decision to publicly stand its ground before Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas".

May they both burn in hell.
we don’t want any of our desert falling into their hands since we expelled them in the first place.
The truth comes out. Jordan KNOWS that so-called "Palestinians" are Jordanians (and Syrians) and a "Palistinian state" will, when not busy trying to destroy Israel, will assert claims of property ownership (of the good stuff of course) inside Jordan.
What, no one noticed how "Right of Return" was asserted at the last second to destroy any possible long-term peace?
muslims are not brothers -- they are bloodthirsty semi-anarchists in it for themselves.
Parse this political posture a little. Palestine is supposed to occupy ALL the current boundaries of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and what now constitutes the state of Israel, the Jews simply have to depart. To settle for the current boundaries is to restrict this future vision.
So no “unilateral” declaration of Palestinian statehood is acceptable to any of the Arab League nations, or the worldwide Caliphate, so long as the Israeli state shall exist.
Exactly. All the idiots on the Left that accuse Israel of being so “mean” to the Palis...Never do they say one thing about what Jordan did.
And, nobody gives a hoot that a zillion people became “displaced” when Pock-eeeee-stahn was created. Oh, THAT’S different.
Sometimes, I just want to throw my hands up in the air and move to another planet.
Ping.
Jordanians are very nervous, because Paleos outnumber them in their own country, and are none too loyal. While the Bedouins run the country, the military and the secret police, if the Paleos ever decided to become a major pain in the rear end, they would be.
Jordan has no place to export them to, either. So in a life or death struggle, they would have to dig a whopper of a mass grave. Because truth be told, *nobody* wants them, any more than an equal weight of giant, biting cockroaches.
The Hashemite kingdom will vote against the Palestinian Authority's bid for a unilateral declaration of statehood by the United Nations in September, UAE-based al-Bayan reported Wednesday.Jordan claims the "West Bank", and Israel (at least). Syria claims Lebanon, Israel, and at least part of Iraq and Jordan. The Arab terrorists that call themselves Palestinians have land claims that none of the neighbors will support, except insofar as it undermines Israel, the one obstacle to their territorial ambitions.

Last thing Jordan needs is a terror state next door.
Jordan knows the Pals are nothing but mid-east trailer trash. That’s why they kicked them out in the first place.....
They didn’t kick them out. 70% of Jordan’s population IS Pali. The rest are Bedouins.
Jordanian intelligence stopped the 1 September coup and on 15 September 1970, King Hussein turned the Jordanian Army loose on Arafat and his PLO with orders to exterminate every man, woman, and child.
Things were going pretty well for the Jordanian Army in the next ten months and Arafat was looking at a debacle of epic proportions. After President Nasser of Egypt died on 28 November 1970 of a sudden heart attack, Arafat lost one of his strongest allies in the Arab world. Arafat ran to the UN and got a ceasefire arranged so he and his fighters could leave Jordan.
Unfortunately, the poor country of Lebanon was stupid enough to take Arafat and the PLO who kept their weapons! Once evacuated to Lebanon, Arafat and the PLO started undermining the fragile Lebanese government. Eventually their efforts plunged Lebanon into a civil war that lasted off and on from 1975 to 1992. Syria sent 30,000 troops to Lebanon and seized the Bekaa Valley (about 1/3 of the country) and it occupies former Lebanese soil to this day.
The only thing that Jordan could do if forced to absorb the psychotic “Palestinians” would to start up killing them like they did in September 1970 to June 1971. Alternatively, Jordan might consider a more humane solution — deporting the Palestinians to Antarctica.
Now what have you got against poor, harmless penguins?
The penguins are well equipped to survive in Antarctica. I seriously doubt if the Palestinians would have a clue how to live in a subzero snow and ice desert.
If their behavior in a desert is any cue, they wouldn’t try to survive in the ice and snow, but try to drive away the penguins and take over their ice and snow, with the backing of the UN, claiming that the penguins are oppressing them, and that the penguins ice and snow are the Paleo ancestral lands and the 3,492,627th most sacred place in Islam.
