The GOP needs Marco Rubio on the Ticket in 2012 as VP. If we do not carry Florida and if we do not take some of the Hispanic vote away from Obama nation-wide, he might very well be reelected. We need enough votes to prevent the Chicago Thug-style Politics from stealing the Election. Don't think it can't happen. Remember how the Kennedys stole the 1960 Election from Nixon.
The Question then arises: IS MARCO RUBIO CONSTITUTIONALLY ELIGIBLE? The answer is emphatically YES! So is Bobby Jindal. There are many authorities I could cite but I'll use one to conserve space and prevent boring you.
In "A view of the Constitution of the United States of America" By William Rawle (Page 80) it states: .every person born within the United States, its territories or districts, whether the parents are citizens or aliens, is a natural born citizen in the sense of The Constitution, and entitled to all the rights and privileges appertaining to that capacity .
Marco Rubio was born in Miami, FL; Bobby Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, LA. The issue is closed.
The GOP will win FL in 2012 without Rubio on the ticket. The GOP will take a higher percentage of the Hispanic vote 2012 than in 2008 even without Rubio on the thicket.
Rubio would meke an excellent VP candidate, but apparently he rightly does not want to bail on his first Senate term after 2 years. Be happy for that as we need solid Senators too.
Count me in. I think I am qualified: Parents both American Citizens at time of birth but here is the catch: I was not born in the United States, born Camp Casey, Korea - United States Army Hospital.
Nothing in this life is guaranteed but some things are more probable than others. We will find out soon enough. I can tell you this... bachmann is not the answer and neither is romney. Why don't you go over to E-Trade and bet your money... my money is going to try and help save America... and of course my support for FR with my $$$. While I like you and respect you... you are far down the list of importance at this time.

Marco Rubio would guarantee that we carry Florida.
There are no guarantees in politics.
kinda begs the question of... Why did the FOUNDING FATHERS have to EXEMPT themselves??... from the NBC Requirement.
>he 2012 Election will NOT be determined by the Independents. It will be determined by the Hispanic vote.
LOL No, it will not. That like saying it will be decided by the black vote or the homo vote or any other vote that makes up the mismash of identity politics in America.
It will be decided by the vast number of crusty old white folks - as you so artfully put it - that vote democrat.
>Now, what were you saying?
That GOP voters did not come out in great numbers to vote for McCain you blind donkey - put up a strong conservative and watch the numbers fly
LLS is correct - We are taking Florida big & nothing that you have posted is going to change that. - save your money son
Is he eligible? Yes.
With a Perry-Rubio ticket we’ll have full amnesty and the GOP will never win another election.
No thanks!
Obviously there was no United States when they were born.
W was really our first Hispanic president—and he never won their vote. The simple truth is that most Hispanics in this country bring their left-leaning sentiments from their homelands, get favored with affirmative action and government benefits at a level beyond how they could have lived at home, and they’re not about to turn majority Republican because we have a Cuban-American on our ticket.
I see, so all the countless hours of debate and discussion that have taken place here on FR over the past years mean nothing, because you have decided it. Maybe you're the one that needs to do some homework.
Agree with you completely ! Rubio is the most Reganesque man we have known. Marco 2010 stickers will remain on our cars until there is another with his name to replace them.
As I recall, they don't just exempt themselves. They, and everyone else born in the colonies when they were, were British subjects at the time of their birth, as were their parents.
Great idea, but it will not happen. Marco Rubio has work to do in the Senate, and he will not pull an Obammy and simply use his seat as a jumping board for a run at the Presidency, or even the Vice Presidency.
I like Marco Rubio right where he is; I feel the same way about Paul Ryan...both of them are in the first wave of a badly needed Congress cleaning, and I look forward to the day when Marco is a Senior Senator because so many of the usual suspect have finally retired and cleared the way for guys like Marco to take over the Chairmanship of the major Senatorial Committees and start getting the real work done.
Rather than pull either one from the jobs they have just begun, people would do better to find additional new Conservative candidates to elect to Congress in 2012 and send Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan and others more reinforcements.
Rubio is de facto eligible. We no longer live in a country that adheres to a strict constructionist interpretation of the Constitution. The Leftists will not want to touch this issue because of obvious reasons with their own impostor in chief.

Why focus on Rubio? Rick Santorum is already running, and I haven’t heard a single person question his eligibility.
And why not? Because a candidate’s parents’ citizenship is irrelevant. Nobody cares about Santorum’s dad’s citizenship because it doesn’t matter Constitutionally. Same reason nobody ever speculated about Nancy Pelosi’s eligibility on the Democratic side.
Rawle is wrong. Rubio and Jindal are both native born only. Not eligible.
