A new statewide survey in Alaska shows President Obama beating Sarah Palin in her home state in a head-to-head matchup. Continue Reading
The poll, by Hayes Research Group, had a sample size of 500 likely voters and a 4.4-point margin-of-error.
Still, it showed Obama's support as stronger than Palin's in a horserace.
Some 34 percent said they felt "strong" in backing Obama, while 6 percent were "not so strong," and 2 percent were undecided but leaning toward him.
Palin, Alaska's former governor and the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, had 25 percent of likely voters saying they felt "strong" about supporting her, while 6 percent were "not so strong," and 5 percent were unsure but leaning toward her.
Still, there were a large number of undecided voters in the survey, with 7 percent saying they'd support another candidate, and 16 percent saying they remained undecided.

Straight up, I think you’re correct.
It’s that Soros funded third party “independent” the MSM will swoon over that will give Baraq a Clintonian plurality win.
“At what? Golf? “
Good one.
“Yep...you are another ash carrying trash...”
If that is some new fangled FR lingo which means “Palin fan”, then yes I am.
“Im still not buying it.”
Assuming you mean the poll results, I don’t blame you.
“This has little to nothing to do with leaving the governors office....”
Thanks for the intelligent response to my simply honest and potentially relevant observation.
I guess one (you) out of five ain’t bad. For this subject matter anyway.
Yeah right and I have some tropical Alaska sea shore land for sale,The Alaskans I know HATE Obama!
Laughable and pitiful effort on Politico’s part and not worthy of any further discussion.
Thank you for saying that! I've been thinking it for years, but never quite got the right words together.
I am sick to death of seeing the same old, worn out, liberal attack memes being posted here, over and over again. Every single one of them has been tirelessly and thoroughly debunked, yet Palin detractors keep posting them, as though they're some sort of effective argument. It's just asinine.
Good thing they don't let me touch the zot gun around here. I'd put all of the PDSers on notice, that they'd better start coming up with some coherent and logical arguments against Governor Palin, or be gone.
Hays Research had McAdams at 29% and Miller at 23% one week before the election. Miller ended up with 35%, McAdams with 23%.
Good grief, will it ever end? With Obamas anti-drilling, anti-energy policies, do they really expect us to believe a state like Alaska whose economy soley depends on drilling and energy would vote for Obama????
I dont buy it.
This post from Man from Oz with actual feet on the ground in Alaska.
She'd be foolish to run with all the $$$ rolling in.
YEAH! Screw Sarah Palin. Let’s rally around an electable candidate like Mitt Romney or John Huntsman. We want civility and moderation, not conservatism.
It’s a new millinium. Freedom and the Constitution are so 1700’s. Lets get with times and roll out those entitlements and raise those taxes. Lets’ crack down on the wealthy and elect “cool” people with great hair.
This is sarcasm by the way........
Why would you even post such a pack of lies? Have you got &#$% for brains.
We do not need to talk with anybody from Alaska
to know that this is CRAPOLA...WAKE UP MAN
How right you are.. Ah well, lets just ignore polls and trends all around and go with the groupthink.
Or she could prove them wrong by running. At this point either she runs, endorses someone soon, or looks like an opportunist guaranteed. If she winds up not running or endorsing, she winds up looking like an opportunist because she has spent a lot of time looking like she is going to run for President. I mean, she’s in Iowa for Pete’s sake.
All of her negatives can be overcome by a strong campaign. Her negatives are a result of perceived negative character. If she runs a strong campaign that builds up the perception of her character and her experience, then there is no stopping her from winning the nomination and probably the White House.
Well of course he is. Everyone knows he's a misogynist.
Remember what he did to Hillary.

Still waiting for someone to say where the simple electoral math in Post 79 (mine) is wrong...
The “trend” is that she has increased favorability over the past two months. Who’s to say that will stop?
The math has nothing to do with it. Sure if she wins more EV’s she wins the election. Duh..
However, her negatives are very high still. The majority of this country have said in many polls they will not vote for her.
Maybe they’re all wrong though. To me as an objective conservative it appears she has a very strong 25% of the voters that are rapidly for her and at least that many rapidly against her. The majority of the rest only somewhat dislike her. It’s not enough to beat hussein imo.
