On June 15th, President Obama sent an e-mail out to supporters informing them about a raffle offering a “casual dinner” with the commander in chief. The money raised from the raffle will go to his re-election campaign. (snip)“We rely on everyday Americans giving whatever they can afford -- and I want to spend time with a few of you. So if you make a donation today, you'll be automatically entered for a chance to be one of the four supporters to sit down with me for dinner.

Just like high school band members sell candy bars to pay for special trips or uniforms, all federal bureaucrats will be required to sell candy bars to fund their departments. For example, in the Department of Energy there are approximately 16,000 employees and their budget request for Fiscal Year 2012 is $29.5 billion. That means each employee would have to sell a little over $1.8 million in candy bars. At five bucks a bar they would have to sell about 368,000 each. If they come up short, their budget will be cut by the amount of the difference between what they asked for and what they raised.

They'll probably buy the candy from a "favored supplier" for $6 each and end up losing about $6 billion.

Not an original idea to me but how about a telethon? Instead of the usual song and dance stuff mebbe some politician death matches. For instance wouldn't you pay to see Pelosi get in the ring with Boehner and duke it out.

Loser is the first one that cries.

Bad Idea. This problem is owned by the politicians. We have for decades overpaid for the infrastructure of this country that WE built, and for billions in unconstitutional spending. Nothing would make them happier than for US to bail out THEIR mistakes and start over with a clean slate. What needs to happen, and never will, is hearings, prison time and property and benefit seizure for current and former politicians at all levels of government. If they are still alive, they get a subpoena.

Lemonade stand!

Lemonade stands run by children to help pay down the national debt. Can you just visualize thousands of envelopes filled with dollar bills and change arriving at the White House? It would put the Obama regime and Congress to shame.

That is if the local governments don’t close them down for not having a permit and worse yet, imposing a hefty fine.

That and some spray-on autobody undercoating should do the job.
