How picture perfect Michele Bachmann has stepped up her style game
Daily Mail UK ^ | June 27, 2011 | Tamara Abraham

Michele Bachmann, looked polished and elegant as she announced her campaign to be the Republicans' Presidential candidate today.

And while there is no denying that the Minnesota Congresswoman, 55, is an attractive woman, it appears she has stepped up her game when it comes to her style and beauty routine.

As she launched her bid this morning, it was clear that her pale grey dress and matching jacket had been carefully considered.

--snip--

Mr Mattie compared Mrs Bachmann to fellow Republican Sarah Palin, whose distinctive personal style came under heavy scrutiny in 2008 during her campaign for U.S. Vice President.

He added: 'It's great to see a political candidate who does not wear her hair in a bun or hide her smoldering eye shadow with oversized spectacles, much like what has become the cartoonish beauty treatment of Sarah Palin.'

"I agree, Rep. Bachmann has good dress sense. She always looks nice, in the pictures and videos I've seen."

Agreed, plus everything I've heard from her points true conservative, and she's not afraid to speak out on issues.

Absolutely...no matter how well or not she is dressed.

She has GOT to know that the media will savage her for ANY gaffes. They fear that a woman can easily beat el zeerho.

She has GOT to be more careful.

I agree with her on a lot of points. She’s definitely on the list of candidates I’d be willing to support with money or effort, when we get closer to the primaries.

It means that MB has an uphill battle compounded by her own personality traits...I like the conservative attitude but can’t stand phony and frankly unnecessary grandstanding, playing for a great ‘storyline’. The conservative message plays great, just stick to it! And I will own ‘ it’ and others are saying it too! In the words of the great philosopher Forrest Gump, stupid is as....

Me too. I also saw Herman Cain speak, and liked everything he had to say. Just hoping Romney gets thumped, and we end up with someone we can trust and support.

No candidate who supported socialized HC will EVER get a vote from me.

Oh, this is about Michelle Bachman! I thought it was about the very fashionable Michelle Obama.

Professional women have to deal with and master so much more crap than men do.

How so? I fully agree that historically some women occasionally faced a hostile work environment but what does that have to do with some English fob commenting on a politician's wardrobe selection?

When you see fashion shows on TV what is it about most of the time? Women's fashion! In beauty pageants, why do they have the evening gown competition? Why do they even have beauty pageants?

Do you ever hear a man say, "Do these pants make my butt look too wide? "

Who dominates the "shopping gene"? What do they usually buy? Things that affect their appearance, most of the time! Clothes, jewelry, makeup, etc.

I am afraid you have let the Feminists incorporate you into a victim group.

Your misogyny is showing.

No man in politics gets every little sartorial choice, down to his shoes, put through such scrutiny. Men simply put on a dark suit, clean shirt and acceptable tie and keep their hair cut short and they’re good to go.

Women, however, have to have a wide array of carefully selected clothing, just the right makeup, accessories, and hair plumped just right—and they’re still open to niggling evaluation and criticism.

No back to your cave!

I’m interested in Cain, as well. I think Romney will be zotted, just like the last time. Nobody really supports him.

I am searching Google News Archives for glowing pieces about the style of Hillary Clinton’s pantsuits. So far haven’t found anything...

This is what I was responding to:

The John Wayne thing makes her look like she is dumb...fire her staff that can’t follow the Google search ...but wait she’s an Iowan herself an oughta know better...just sayin’

I guess I missed whatever it is that you are talking about. What John Wayne thing?

I assume this was in response to my comment about "Just sayin'"

And I will own ‘ it’ and others are saying it too!

If so, other examples of irritants were the wide spread use of "myself" when "me" was the grammatically correct word. Some jock on TV used myself incorrectly and soon everyone was using it incorrectly. Another which is unfortunately still widespread is "Each and every .... " That is an obvious redundancy. Say either Each or say Every. They mean the same so why use both?

Now we have Just sayin' . I consider it a copout. We know you are saying it so why tell us you are? Do you have another meaning than the one expressed? If so, why did you say what you said instead of what you meant.

Just sayin'.

See how stupid that is?

The important thing is not that she made the John Wayne flub, but how she recovers from it, and whether she allows it and any other flubs to make her look like a wimp (like the opposite of Palin).

Your penis envy is showing.

Women, however, have to have a wide array of carefully selected clothing, just the right makeup, accessories, and hair plumped just right...

Why? Just be neat and well groomed and you are good to go.

—and they’re still open to niggling evaluation and criticism.

By whom? Usually by other women.

No back to your cave!

Playing the old Political Correctness card, eh? That is an oft used liberal ploy. Liberals are also the ones who try to feminize men into their preferred metrosexual types. Those are less threatening to their fragile egos. Enjoy who you are and stop complaining about life!

Wow! First of all, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Were is a different word altogether front where...learn when to use it properly. Secondly, yes you did miss the John Wayne thing, so try keeping up with lighting speed internet thing and not fretting so much over the colloquialisms!
Incorrectly attributing the hometown of John Wayne , actor, to that of John Wayne GACY, mass murdering clown, is a pretty big gaffe, especially for a native Iowan!

The mind numb thing fits!

I swear that I read the headline really quickly, and I thought, “Not ANOTHER Michelle Obama love-letter!”.

Had to read it again to see it was Michele Bachmann.

Crazy world.

You never did explain your intent for “Just sayin’.”
