The Cold Fusion Ping List
Hmmmmm
“H2 and on to H3 and H4. Finally some hydrogen molecules reach the stage of helium”
That doesn’t make a whit of sense.

Brillouin Energy Corporation

Brillouin Energy Corporation (BEC) technology uses the hydrogen in ordinary water in a nuclear process that produces no hazardous waste. The process stimulates a Controlled Electron Capture Reaction (CECR) in a catalyst. This process creates low energy neutrons. The neutrons generate heat as they are captured, building heavier elements.
NOTE- This group is using a process with many similarities to Rossi energy catalyzer. They are not getting as much energy gain (less than a double right now, but are targeting getting more than triple in the next round). They are working at a few hundred watts (so about ten times less than what Rossi is claiming).
Brillouins proprietary electronic pulse generator promotes proton-electron capture reactions. The pulses change some of the protons in metal to neutrons, and surrounding nuclei subsequently captures these produced neutrons. The subsequent neutron capture reactions generate heat, and because the pulses are controlled the thermal output from Brillouins proprietary technology safely provides clean heat on demand.
Technical discussion of Brillouin’s work on a powerpoint.
* Quantum Fusion theory indicates reaction will scale with increasing temperature and pressure.
* Existing systems demonstrate 2 less than Pout/Pin greater than 1. (getting almost twice the power out as they are putting in.)
* Next round will demonstrate greater than 3X.
* Next round expected to prove technology will have industrial applications.
Information collected from Brillouins first round of experiments demonstrated that the proprietary electronic pulse generator produced excess heat when applied to nickel and to palladium. Excess heat is the amount of thermal energy that exceeds the energy used to drive the pulse generator and its associated electronics. Second round experiments conducted in a high temperature and high-pressure test cell confirm that excess heat is produced on demand in repeatable amounts. Presently the companys pulse generator is being studied and tested at SRI, International in Menlo Park California.
The US commercial boiler market is $1.1 billion and growing. The business model addresses the market by providing economic and environmentally sustainable solutions. The technology provides heat on demand without emissions and avoids other costs associated with fossil fuels. Brillouins value proposition eliminates need for fuel purchases.
Brillouin has entered into its first international licensing agreement covering three nations and is involved in on-going negotiations for other potential international partners.

A little more credible than Rossi...
I’d go for 2:1
Is there a bistro-matics ping list?
(nothing against the C/F folk — I have just always loved that concept, especially having lived it...)
Cold fusion is a fraud. It’s designed to suck tax dollars out of the US government to hire more Democrat scientists for green energy jobs!
Cows in Berkeley? Moooooooooooooooooooo!!!
This reminds me of a few years ago where some no-count in Germany said he invented the hyperdrive; but he wouldn’t tell anybody how it worked, lest they steal his idea. And I think this was in the San Francisco Chronicle too.
This is what happens when you let people from the society pages do a Science/Technology article.
i agree.
...and i was ready to totally dismiss this as a hoax, when i read about the “self destruct” mechanism that had to be built into each machine. my “BS Meter” went off.
but, a FReeper named Warthog_wonder(?) still has an open mind, and he knows a LOT more about it than i do.
(i admit i know almost nothing about this)
so as long as he’s interested, so am i.
(and, i certainly can hope! this would be magic!)
That doesnt make a whit of sense.
I don't think there's anything higher than H³. I think tritium's the end of the line. Next thing up is He and a whole lot of MC².

With 2 for 1, I can have my cake, and eat it too. I could live with that!

As they say: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t.
Perhaps I will believe it when I see it being sold at Costco.
