Via POLITICO's Jennifer Epstein, Michele Bachmann isn't accepting an apology from Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace for asking her yesterday, "Are you a flake?" Continue Reading
ABC News' Jon Karl, who's been getting face-time with Bachmann in Waterloo in advance of her formal campaign announcement, played a clip of the web video in which Wallace said, "I messed up. I'm sorry."
When Karl asked if she accepts the apology, Bachmann brushed aside the question this way: "I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious."

You seem to think I defend Wallace asking if Bachmann is a flake. I have not defended that and it would be kind of silly since Wallace has now apologized for doing so.
You think?
LOL...the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
When did you stop beating your wife?
Just a question.
Bachmann has weaknesses that Wallace could ask about but it came off as him calling her a flake. It came off as a suggestion not a question.
Sorry for replying to myself but I wanted to provide an example of challenging the media and its “other people are saying” approach.
Prior to the Steelers-Ravens divisional playoff game in January, Rich Eisen of NFL films tried to use the “some people are saying” approach to journalism and Deion Sanders wouldn’t let him get away with it. The result is hilarious.

I recall a similar line of questioning by a “flake” journalist...
“Boxers or Briefs”???
A democrat would answer that with some sort of “hip” answer...
A conservtive would either ignore it, or dress down the person asking that question in an appropriate manner...
Bachmann should stick to her guns and not accept the apology, nor be expected to explain, or qualify that non-acceptance at any point from now on...
Remember, WE (conservatives) should never have to excuse our positions on the issues, or what we say...
You either got what it takes, or get out of the way of others who can take it...
Perry doesnt work for FNC. Talk of Perry is ‘news’ meaning it's new. There has not been 2 years straight of Perry 2012 stories. You know 'news' ='new's?? $$$$ ??? Did you know that FNC main function is to make $$$$ as a business??? And they do a great job at it too.
Palin decided she wanted to continue on at FNC and also make $$$ there. Palin decides not to be a candidate today. Not FNC and not PDSers.
I hope this is not leading to silly narrative where Palin announces she decides not to run (at all in 2012) and the blame is put on those that thought she would not run. That would be clearly idiotic logic.
You are exactly right.
Are you a flake?
versus:
When did you stop beating your wife?
That only fits if the original question were:
When did you stop being a flake?
Rollins? That flake?
:-)
Democrats are loving this question. They love anything that diminishes conservative women. Jon Stewart will have a field day with it on his show.
We all know Rollins is a little bit of a flake, proved that during the NJ governors race.
“I think Chris showed a little leg yesterday in his left-leaning politics.”
Yes; in the end, he is his father’s (liberal) son.
And his apology was half-assed at best.
“Please, tell me more about Chris Wallaces ‘left-leaning politics’.”
His father is Mike Wallace, so Chris was raised around that environment. Before going to Fox News, Chris’ slant was always anti-conservative. I remember when the news came out that Fox was hiring him; true conservatives were up in arms because of his ideology. On Fox, he cooled his jets a bit, but these people just can’t help themselves.
You’re right.
Have you noticed that it’s Huffpo and DailyKos that is reporting this?
Wallace has apologized to the views that sent tons of emails.
Where exactly is the apology to MB?
Has Chris Wallace asked these people if they are flakes?
Yep!
