If at all possible, never ever ever fly. Go by train or drive yourself. I wonder if the American public decided not to fly. How long would the airlines last and how long would TSA be in business?

The nation definitely needs a no fly day to help protest egregious infringement on human dignity such as this elderly lady suffered.

Nappy will just add TSA Checkpoints to get on a Train, Bus or Freeway.

These guys are leftwing union hacks who have jobs for life in return for voting Democrat. If the airlines shut down, they'll just put them to work on the trains, or on highway traffic stops.

SandRat beat me to it. The TSA would just add security checkpoints to other modes of travel. Pretty much anything to do with “Transportation”, as the agency’s name implies.

My husband just asked me if I wanted to take a trip...and I said, “Not if we have to fly.” I have an implanted device that delivers anti-spasticity med for my MS. I can’t imagine what kind of treatment I’d get when they see that hockey puck sized metal implant in my abdomen. Pat down, to say the least...and I have a card to hand them to explain the device...but after all these stories, I don’t really think the card will make much difference.

Someone needs to educate the TSA on medical conditions and devices. Remember the guy with the urostomy (they spilled his bag all over him.) The tales of searching leg braces, and wheelchairs, etc. They’re going overboard on the folks who are the “least” likely to be terrorist. Have any of the terrorists masqueraded as a person with a medical condition...don’t think so!

I keep saying the same thing, but the last time I did a Freeper kindly told me that I didn't know what I was talking about since I didn't add that the TSA is likely to attack train and bus passengers. Maybe so, but that still doesn't take away from the argument to just ditch the airline industry. They don't fight for us, so to hell with them.

“I wonder if the American public decided not to fly.”

Every flight I’ve been on in the last couple years have been overbooked. Gone are the days of getting three seats to yourself.

IF people became outraged enough, AND there were empty seats, THEN things will change. But I don’t see that happening.

If I get a call on Weds to visit a client, I’m there by Thu or Fri. If I said I was takin gthe train and I’d be there Tuesday, they’d hire someone else who’d be there Thu.
