LOL! Great analogy! Yelp, yelp, yelp!!!!!
FOX panel on Afghanistan speech/situtation.
Kristol - No guarantee of success, but obama shouldn’t overrule his commanders. The key to obama’s plan was that he plans on ending this in September, 2012. This was clearly a political move to enhance his chances to get reelected - that is indefensable.
Now that, folks, would have really put her on the map.
Please note that the new feature “Sunday Morning Bray” is not written by me, it is written by.... Bray...
Please address your replies to him, thanks.
To all: When addressing the Sunday Morning Bray simply change to To box from “Alas Babylon!” to “bray”.
I got kicked off the internet after my post. I was claiming that Gov. Christie is the modern version of ‘’Tony Soprano’s’’ Gary Cooper. Take it to them, watch the little guy and always stand up for what’s right.
Seems to me you pretty much “summed” it up.
For it’s no matter whether the funds are somehow authorized to be spent as collected....this is what the American public was sold and this is what they understand....
It’s why the Democrats, or at least partially why, they desperately do not want to affect social security in any way. With Medicare they’re a bit sneakier, robbing the fund because unlike expectations of a regular monthly check, folks only need Medicare oncit in a while.
This year the Part B Medicare co-pay went up $12.00 a year, to my surprise. However, this sort of thing is shrugged off. Take away that monthly check, even with means testing-a communist notion....and they’ll be out in the streets with their rage.
The Democrats, and on some level the Repubs, do not want to have the entire SS population stop in their tracks and ask WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO OUR MONEY??
Nevermind long complicated posts by Freerepublic posters, it’s the bill we were sold at a time in our lives when we were busy working all kinds of hours, raising our kids and, I add softly, it’s not like we had a lot of choice.
At some point a lot of us took advantage of one of the better laws pushed by the GOP, that of the 401K/IRA. So we’ve got years of these sorts of savings in our experience and most retirees, comes time to collect on this money, were NOT told by the holders “sorry, we spent it all.”
We thought the money was being saved, it’s how it was sold to us, and it turned out a lot like giving home mortgages to Crystal and her pimp, the POLITICIANS messed it up.
This is what the American public understands and screeds about how they had a right to spend the money are not going to change the sentiment.
By the way, I agree with you. Especially the last sentence!
Face it folks, Mitt Romney is “yesterday’s” wannabe!!! All the money and liberal backing in the world is not going to get him the Republican POTUS nominee slot. Ditto for Huntsman, an Obama flapper. There is much more yet to come. Heed not a word the Obama media spins out. They don not have a clue!!!
FOX panel on the budget
Brit - Impasse was inevitable. If it were left to the democrats, they would do it all with tax increases.
Kirsten Powers - dems want to cut tax loops holes for things people aren’t sympathetic with (corporate jets, etc.)
Kristol - tells Wallace, “You can call me a flake if you want.” lol
Juan global economic recession could be precipitated if we don’t raise the debt limit. Past presidents have raised the debt limit. Brit reminds Juan that past presidents raising the debt is different because we were not anywhere close to this level of debt.
Brit - warns that administration will send out warning letters that certain programs will be shut down. - military pay, SS, etc. Republicans won’t be able to withstand the blowback from furiuos voters. Juan thinks that would be deplorable, it would never happen.
Just finished watching This Week. Bachmann did a great job in the face of hostile questioning. She is no flake unless you consider conservatives to be flaky.
Some of the Palin supporters afraid of Bachmann’s success will say otherwise. Then you get accused of PDS for pointing out that fact. It’s like the Salem Witch Trial of the 21st Centruy.
Just yesterday, someone b*tched to the AdminMod that they were purposing removing Palin-stories from the Breaking News listings and replacing them with less-newsworthy items. I guess no one is safe from attacks these days.
Go Michele! And if she ever wants to jump into the race, Go Sarah!
“WHY THE HELL IS BACHMAN GOING ON CBS????”
Yeah, I’m sure Schieffer will be even harder on her than Wallace.
Point taken, even if I didn’t watch EITHER interview. MSM’s been dead to me since ‘68.
My only point is that after the gross and unprofessional conduct of the entire media (including Wallace and FOX) in slandering Palin and her family down to and including infants non-stop for over three years, getting exercised about Wallace’s little dig today is almost laughable.
Bachmann AND her fans better get tough real fast, ‘cause I’ve got a feeling the sh**storm coming her way isn’t even
started to warm up yet.
FWIW, I’ll keep y’all in my prayers.
If these fools and the American people believe POTUS Obama really wants Qaddffi out, they must be smoking reefer or...have lost their marbles. The LIbyan dictator and murderer of American innocents is adored & protected by Obama, Wright, Jones, Farrakhan, Ayers, etc. Qaddffi is going nowhere.
Wallace really smacks down the comment by Jon Stewart that FOX viewers are misinformed. Shows how these polls are misleading/stacked. On global warming - if you don’t agree, you are misinformed/wrong. On obamacare if you believe it will cost more in the long run (or something like that), you are misinformed.
Wallace puts up a study on viewers of various cable shows and their percentage of correct answers to “real questions”. Fox listeners are higher than others. Stewart viewers scored only 1% higher than those who watch Hardball. lol.
Wallace finishes (regarding the statement that Fox Viewers are consistently misinformed) with:
“I guess the joke is on Jon Stewart.”
Yes he did. I don't think it's going to get him out of the Bachmann flap. It was crude and rude.
While I'm at it, let me take a moment to talk about Chris Christie.
First, way I figger, Coulter likes chubby men. I'll never forgive Christie for his endorsement of Mike Castle who flipped Delaware Republicans the bird for some fifteen years.
He speaks in RINO codespeak....
Somebody tell the RINOS, who forever go on about "civil" politics and "friendly discourse"....somebody, puleez....give them a clue. I got one right here somewhere, next to a bridge I got for sale....
THE DEMOCRATS WILL NEVER EVER BE "CIVIL" UNLESS YOU DO IT THEIR WAY...GET OVER IT!
Indeed Christie went on a binge about how much we could get done if the politicians would only get along.
How many years will it take these RINOS to get a notion that the Democrats only get civil when you're doing things their way? Hundred years? Couple hundred?
What the RINOS mean when they say this is "we've got to give the Democrats their way more often".
Thank me very much.
He also delved into the concept of "nation building" but, in a fit of "civil discourse" he refused to comment on Obama's silly Afghanistan stance. Seems Christie doesn't like nation building, which is RINO speak for "achieving final victory".
Democrats will engage in war in a limited fashion and only in certain ways. If we are attacked the Dems stand on the capitol steps, sing the national anthem, and vow to get those who attacked us. They then do pretty much that, while the congress critters are happy to fund the war, the public wants it taken care of.
Once America calms things down, the Dems then start demanding we pull out as money spent to win a war takes away from their social programs what buys them votes.
They lament that we shouldn't be "nation building", which translates as finishing the job and installing a peaceful transition. Much like Marshall did in Europe, for example.
Anyway, speak softly and carry a big stick with this Christie guy. Remember always that he LOVED Mike Castle.
For that I shall never forgive him and shall forever talk him down, Ann coulter notwithstanding.
I agree with you. We can support both. The Rollins statement about Palin was uncalled for, but that shouldn’t result in the castigation of Bachmann. There is no doubt that Palin and Bachmann are the most conservative possible candidates. They agree on many things, which will make it difficult for conservatives should Palin enter the race. It will split our vote so I hope this can be resolved sooner rather than later.
It will split our vote so I hope this can be resolved sooner rather than later.
****
Definitely! I would support either gladly! Both have executive skills that are mind-bogglingly great!
Just don’t get the Coulter/Christie thing. Sure he is great for standing up for fiscal conservatism but not so much for social. My best guess is she doesn’t want to be thought of as one of those flaky Palin supporters and wants to be taken seriously on the ABDNCBS morning shows.
Pray for America
