The Talk Shows
June 26th, 2011
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): 2012 presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J.; Sens. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Jim Webb, D-Va.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich.
But there are too many gaffs to remember.
Er, Chris, there’s nothing wrong with Fox telling the other side. Pretty pathetic he used Michele Bachmann to try and prove he’s neutral. All he did was prove he’s a jerk.
I just e-mailed Fox and gave them an earful. I encouage others to do the same. AB has the e-mail addresses at top of thread. Denco
I like Chris Christie, but what does he mean when he says he won’t rule on 2016? Does that mean he thinks Obama is going to be re-elected? Or that he would run against the incumbent GOP president? I don’t get it.
Chris Cristie just mopped the floor with DavidG’s mophead. It should be a lesson on how to answer these bias mediaheads. It was great. Be sure to watch it.
Why ask a question about something you've already stated as stone fact?
Give 'em time, the pimp media will get around to their hatchet job on Bachmann.
Just don't come crying about how you weren't warned.
The really insidious part is that too many people seem to believe that we can make a few tweaks to the programs and keep them essentially the same. Or that somehow the programs were mismanaged rather than understanding that they, like the welfare state, are fatally flawed. It is impossible to fix them without fundamental changes and that is why the Democrat’s demogoging of the issue is so disgraceful.
Good Sunday morning to all. Instead of going to church this morning there are many...many...many in this neck of the woods this morning preparing to leave and walk from their homes cars and u-hauls packed and leaving without looking back.
Absolutely criminal and so, so sad but this a MAJOR CRISIS that is worsening unfortunately.
The neighborhoods are fast becoming drug and pimp zones and kids are displaced. Sad..Sad. Pray for all humanity.
It's called the Preen Room. (Originally built for John Edwards)
Guess I’ll watch the FOX/Bachmann interview with all the buzz on this thread.
Wallace asks what’s the diference between her and Romney. Bachmann - I’m a fighter, common sense goals, sincere. Wallace counters, “Are you saying Romney isn’t sincere?” Doesn’t answer.
Wallace accuses Bachmann of going after gov’t money counseling clinic $30k, farm partnerhip - $260 K, earmarks for state - $60M
Money went to clinic for training. The farm is her FIL’s farm. As far as earmarks - money was for roads. Has since taken an oath to take no more earmarks.
Wallace asks Bachmann about obamacare - $500 B taken away from Medicare, we will lose jobs, reduced choices. Wallace questions why vote for Ryan house budget that takes away similar money from Medicare. What’s the difference? - Unclear what her answer was.
Bachmann - marriage is between a man and a woman. States should set their own laws on this matter, but she also supports a federal constitutional amendment to ban it. Brings up obama not upholding the law by not choosing to defend the “Defense of Marriage Act”. She would support a constitutional amendment, but it’s a high hurdle to get accomplished.
Wallace asks about Romeny’s position on pro-life - she says it was disappointing that he didn’t take the opportunity to sign the Susan B. Anthony pledge (???) after claiming to be pro-life.
On Rick Perry - the more the merrier!
Ruh-Roh - here comes the “flake” comment. Are you flake? Wallace says that’s what the “rap” is in Washington about her. Bachman says that would be insulting.....brings up her record as justification that she is a serious candidate.
Wallace again asks do you agree that if you want to be taken seriously, it’s important to not say “flaky things”. Bachmann - well, of course.
WOW, anybody think Wallace would have gone after a male candidate using the word flake/flaky? I didn’t think so.
Unfortunately, Bachmann is a flake.
Whether or not he should have asked her, is another question.
She could have answered, “are you, Mr. Wallace, a misogynist pig?”
Kristol also threw a dig at Wallace about the Flake question.
Rush isn’t on tomorrow but I hope the talk show guys jump on this.
I’m still fuming.
“Common sense goals?” Is there a page in Bachmann’s book that’s not taken from Palin? I wonder if Palin’s ever had to run against her political doppleganger before.
Look I think the interview he did with Palin was much more respectful. No agenda in that interview. Wanted to give Palin the opportunity to give a good performance. The goal was different today as he admitted later on.
So as long as the state is paying her husband’s business for ‘training’ that’s okay?
I wonder if Mike Gallagher will discuss it. He usually has Chris Wallace on his show.
FOX panel time - on US role in Libya
Brit - message to the president (after this week) is he can keep on doing what’s doing, the house won’t stop him.
Kirsten Powers - public approval has dropped. obama will come back and say they got implicit approval because Congress didn’t cut off funds.
Kristol - unhappy about Republicans taking this stance on Libya.
Juan - Bill’s right. IF US doesn’t prevail now - it wold be calamitious. But, it is ALSO clear that obama is in violation with the War Powers Act.
