I have to do some more digging into the information highway to find out why Rick Perry appears so liberal. I saw him on Gretta Van Susteren’s show talking about the border problem. He was absolutely furious that the Obama Regime was not giving him the resources to shut down the border. He has asked to talk directly to Obama and has been given the shaft. Whatever Texas is able to do on the border, Texas has done by itself with the minimal of federal aid. He wants the illegals to fix their own problem by making it so tough for them to stay here that they will leave on their own resources. No free bus rides from Amarillo to Mexico.

Perry talks a good talk about border security and illegal immigration - BUT DOES NOTHING.

“to find out why Rick Perry appears so liberal”

He is not and does not appear liberal — people who are against him know that the worst thing you can accuse someone of at FR is of being a liberal, a RINO, etc., and figure if they repeat it often enough, people will start believing it, instead of doing their own research to find out the truth, that Perry is a social and fiscal conservative, anti-big government — just do a search on him on Google news of his recent actions: tort reform, calling a prayer meeting for governors in Aug, Texas has created nearly half of all jobs in the US and many other things. He also shoots coyotes, when they attack his dog.

Oh really? Then why hasn't Rick Perry called upon the Texas legislature to send him a strong, bulletproof anti-illegal immigration bill during his ten years as governor?

Why did he call Arizona's tough immigration bill, "Wrong for Texas"?

In the latest legislative session there were several good immigration bills that were allowed to die without a single one of them ever making it to the floor of the House for a vote. Perry knew about these bills, because the Texas Tea Parties barraged his office for months, demanding that he call for one of them to get to his desk. Do you think he ever did?
