The Shakers had, shall we say, strange beliefs about SEX that the MORMON taught bunch don’t.

Yes the Mormons have their beliefs that will make them unfashionable. Modern society doesn’t need polygamy. It would go pretty well against them that they ever had the primitive mind to try it.

Today, even having children through an affair with a mistress is preferrable to actually bothering with plural wives. Take a look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, or John Edwards, for example. People leave the Mormon Church, as far as I am concerned, but do you bother looking up that fact? Someone feels that the church won’t marry him/her because he/she is homosexual, someone doesn’t feel the church is modern enough, embraces said beliefs enough, and so on. There’s plenty of ways in which the Mormon Church is unfashionable in very much a similar way to the Shakers, no, not claiming celibacy, but in other ways.

My best conclusion on this thread is that you somehow dislike the idea that they can decline and disappear without you, yet that’s how it is.

Somehow I get the feeling that you are ignoring MORMON writings that have been posted; favoring instead a referendum on MY posting rationale.
