Colombian women on sex strike until road is paved

BOGOTA (BNO NEWS) -- Almost 300 hundred women in southwest Colombia vowed to withhold sex from their husbands until the government paves the connecting road into their village, Colombia Reports said on Friday.

Dubbed the "strike of crossed legs," the women in the town of Barbacoas near the Pacific coast are trying to persuade their husbands to pressure local authorities to properly maintain the main road out of their village which stretches some 35 miles (56 kilometers) before reaching the nearest town. Many husbands of the women on strike, however, said that they would prefer that their wives engage in a hunger strike instead.

It currently takes about 12 to 14 hours to reach the nearest hospital. More than a dozen medical patients have died on the road before reaching the hospital.

Colombia has a recent history of sex-strikes. In 1997, Colombia's military chief Manuel Bonnet called for a sex-strike among the wives of paramilitaries, guerillas, and drug lords to promote peace. In 2006, wives and girlfriends of gang members also went on a sex strike in central Colombia after their city suffered a period of violence that left 480 people dead.

my bet is that the road gets paved, and the men notice a very slight and very temporary increase in sexual activity.

Yes, they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Useless without pics.

This is my Colombiana, and this would be a crisis in my house!

This is how the Feminazi movement in the US got started. Story goes a bunch of women said to their husbands that unless they are nicer to them, there will be no sex. The husbands said fine and went back to watching the Giant-Redskin game.

Is that for real?

Sure. Of course we all know that women have no sex drive

I think everyone will agree that most women have a sex drive. Until sex is replaced by marriage.

The first thing that came to mind was: What will be different about married women DECLARING a sex moratorium when the de facto moratorium is the rule?

Withholding something not presently available anyway is not much leverage in a negotiation.

Maybe the fight is over the mirage of HOPE for sex at some unspecified future date.

That presumes that sex outside of marriage is the norm. I would suspect that a return to premarital virginity would improve the frequency and enjoyment of sex for both spouses.

Sorry. I wasn’t trying to promote premarital sex. Just joking a little about the difference between men and women.
