ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gay marriage will become legal in New York state after the Republican-led state Senate voted to approve it. Advocates are calling it a historic step as New York stands to become the sixth but by far the largest state to legalize same-sex marriage.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo lobbied hard for the bill and has promised to sign it.
The Senate vote is viewed as a major gain in an effort to allow gay marriage nationally.

I’m not opposed to the free exchange of ideas, nor am I opposed to states flexing their 10th Amendment muscles either. Alabama passed a bill banning gay marriage, and NY allowed it, but Alabama passed their bill first. It will be an interesting though tight-rope battle in courts should someone decide to sue.

I’d rather not feed the trolls. By mentioning them and their garbage, you are giving them satisfaction. I think we just report abuse on them, and ignore. Let the mods handle it.

this is what comes of leaving it to the states. A Federal marriage amendment must be a priority for the next President.

I caught a glimpse of one post in passing. It was directed to me. The poster said something about all of us traditional marriage supporters taking up arms. I guess he wanted us all to start killing our political enemies.
When I checked back later, there were about 10 posts that were deleted. I suspect the poster was deleted as well.
