Just talked with a good friend of mine, but sadly very liberal -- seems irreversible -- told her about the great reviews for The Undefeated, Sarah Palin documentary - her record in Alaska - and I tried to explain to her that she should at least get informed about Sarah before calling her the wilderness barbie.

She then said: OK so she did a great job in Alaska, but is she able to run all US states (in all fairness, she did not say 57..). These people have an answer for everything..darn! What would you say to that - besides telling her that she voted for the one who had so much experience..? I need help here with my liberal friends.

“Habit.
Hard to break.”

Now that I know you need help, I’ll do my very best to help you with your goal.

I try to help all of those afflicted with PDS..... it’s the right thing to do.

I quit drinking and I quit smoking, heck, I even quit burying bodies under my house... so I know you can do it.

Trust me, I’m not even with the government, but I’m still here to help you.

I’ll be voting for Sarah Palin, Liberty, our Constitution and American Exceptionalism.

Very true. If parents spent even a few min. every day talking about lib crap and teaching their kids to think critically, the problem would end itself over time.

This is exactly the reason that teaching kids ‘how’ to think was removed from the edu. system. Libs cannot abide their ‘authority’ and sacred cows being questioned.

Look at Orwell’s 1984 and what he wrote about Ingsoc and doublespeak. The very concept is being played out daily in schools and on TV through PC edicts and attitudes.

And wouldn’t it be a hoot watching her grow up in the White House? :)

My husband and I always make fun of that pronuciation of “didn’t” by the young punks of today! You nailed it!

LOL - and don't forget the ridiculous head bob and palm out thing that accompanies that.

Gosh, it must take so much talent to be cool like that. :)

It is not the job of the president to run all 50 states. The States run themselves. It is the job of the president to run the Federal goverment which is limited constitutionally to protect the States.

It is not the job of the Federal Government to concern itself with the internal governance of the States. No one organization of men could ever competently govern a Federation so vast as this.

Then find out what she believes and why. Her beliefs are wrong. Start there.

Explain federalism to your friend. The president is not supposed to run any states, 50 or 57.

The question is a non-sequitur — bj clinton only ran one state (and a small one). Ronald Magnum ran one state.

?????

Now that Rick is closing in on a run, it’s going to get easier.

Well, now I live in Texas and have voted for Perry a few times, the first time being when he ran for Lt. Governor back in '94.

But if both Palin and Perry enter the race, Governor Palin will have my vote in the primary.

Perry tends to be very appealing and conservative when there's an election on the horizon. But he's done a few things that have been rather distasteful as well. I'm still pretty chapped about the in-state college tuition for illegals.

If he were to get the nomination, yes, I'd vote for him in the general.

But I think Palin is more conservative and less likely to cave in to the establishment in Washington.

Wow. Where to start? Great that she admitted Palin did a great job (if it was sincere), but since when does a President "run all US states"? Maybe she meant "country". You can tell her that everything Palin has "run" so far has done exceeding well - city, state, private business, etc., and those are some of the characteristics that make a great President. Obama never ran anything other than his mouth, and has discovered (as has his mind-numbed followers) that it doesn't count for much when you are sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office.

The fact that you think her response was somehow "an answer for everything" is odd. As someone else posted, that was a softball response. You should have been able to write a book on that.

The bigger question is why are you trying to sell her on Palin when Palin hasn't even announced yet? I would just keep agreeing with her on how horrible Obama has been. Let her get to the point where she would vote for a bum on the street before she'll throw her vote away on Obama again. No need to put her on the offensive about a candidate who isn't even declared yet, especially if you aren't able to answer a simple question like the one she posed. WHEN Palin announces, you can tell her all the reasons you are supporting Palin (if that's the case).

Ronuldus Magnus — I was distracted and hit “Post”

I was just providing examples from both sides of Governors who became Presidents.

Don’t take this the wrong way because I think you are 100% correct. But when dealing with libs like this (if it has to be done at all) that concept is way beyond their ability to grasp.

I think you (generally speaking, not you personally) will be further ahead by giving them the raw emotional kind of arguments they are so used to. If you can get them with that, then introduce the factual things that are what really matter.

I think of it like dealing with children because in reality, that is their functional reasoning level.

Hear! Hear!

Perry's conservatism is a politician's conservatism in a conservative state. He is a conservative politician, not a conservative.

If Rick Perry lived in Massachusetts, he'd have been Mitt Romney.
