I saw him in the play, Glenngarry Glen Ross in S.F. and he was excellent.

What role did he have in that play? Having never seen the stage version, I'm going to take a guess and surmise that he had the part of George Aaronow (played by Alan Arkin in the film).

Some Hollywood liberals can (and do) garner my respect for their talent alone, as long as they don’t try to publicly interject their liberal ideology into the political sphere.

I suspect Faulk was in that category (I say “suspect” because I really don’t know if he did that or not..just that I never heard him voice anything politically controversial).

Some who are not in that category would include Jane Fonda, Susan Serandon, George Clooney, Barbara Streisand, etc. These folks are not only liberal, they seem to take pleasure in insulting an entire portion of their viewing/listening audience (conservatives) who may otherwise have been inclined to pay money to be entertained by their talents. This group always seem to be the most elitist and arrogant of the bunch as well. I have no time or money or respect for them.

He not only played a great Columbo he played MANY rolls that were just delivered with so much comedy and warmth. A great actor. R.I.P. and thanks for the memories.

Falk was one of the great ones, and he’ll be dearly missed by us fans. At the same time, I’m glad the man’s suffering (Alzheimer’s) is finally at its end. May he RIP.

I think I’ll go watch my copy of The In-Laws now.

Hi re...it was a loooong time ago and I only remember parts of it, but especially the huge ovation Faulk received when he walked out on stage. I don’t recall the exact part, but it was the lead. He also hung around on stage after the performance and answered questions and generally chatted with the audience. Class act.

My dad is just like columbo. Not in his crime solving abilities, but in his mannerisms and conversations.

Life with him is very interesting.

At dinner with the In Laws-to-be:

Tommy: Dad and his mysterious phone calls.
Vince Ricardo: What the hell do you mean by that?
Tommy: Nothing. You're just always making these weird calls in back rooms and pay booths...
Vince Ricardo: You little snot-nose! Those phone calls put you through college!

The one that sticks with me was the episode with the late Jack Cassidy.
