Jon Huntsman Does Not Need Republicans - The feeling is mutual.
Human Events ^ | June 23, 2011 | John Hayward

Freshly minted presidential candidate Jon Huntsman revealed his strategy for snagging the Republican nomination in an interview with the Politico website, published this morning. This strategy will not involve Republicans. Huntsman wants your nomination, guys, but he finds you kind of embarrassing, and knows you’re not going to like the useless moderate pabulum he’s selling.

Instead, he’s going to grab that nomination by appealing to non-Republicans who can vote in open Republican primaries. Kasie Hunt of Politico explains that Huntsman “made clear that he plans to capitalize on election rules in New Hampshire and South Carolina that allow independent voters to cast ballots in the GOP presidential primary. “

“When you look at open primaries in both New Hampshire and South Carolina, I think it’s a wide-open affair, I really do,” said Huntsman.

This strategy is supposed to help Huntsman overcome the baggage of his “moderate positions on the environment, immigration, and civil unions,” as well as “his time as Barack Obama’s ambassador to China.” Being a conservative would have helped him get past working for Obama as an ambassador - which, after all, is not a domestic policy position. A conservative could spin that straw into gold by using his proximity to the Chinese Communists as a learning experience to illuminate his defense of liberty and capitalism, showing voters he understands how they are inextricably entwined.

Huntsman, like Romney, directs their people
to cross state lines and vote in two states.

It is illegal but works.

we need ONE state to simply hold its primary first.

NH can yell and scream but NH’s open primary is a nulity to the will of the party.

From the way his family donated megabucks to harry reid, I think Republicans don’t need him either.

I’m wondering if Glenn Beck is planning to be part of Huntsman’s campaign.

EVERYTHING coming from Romney and his apparent VP choice, Hunstman, (I’m convinced that’s why Huntsman is in the race)
suggests that they really ought to run as Democrats in their weak-kneed ‘non-challenge challenge’ to Obama.
They are going after the SAME constituencies that would be logically targeted by Dems in light of their unavoidable awareness that Obama’s original constituencies just aren’t there anymore FOR HIM. It is doubly fatuous that people like Romney and Huntsman think it will be there FOR THEM.
In this way, these idiots SERVE NO ONE, not their own “Republican” party, OR the Dems, yet they continue to make their aimless appeal to these amorphous groupings of ‘the vaguely discontented’. They make far more sense as Dems than as anything else, and their moronic roll-of-the-dice is based on the faulty assumption that they can corral
the same constituencies that the DEMS now have to double down and go after one more time. These two guys are the very face and embodiment of what our so-called two party system has become and how far it has degenerated.

Palin is going to run for the Senate from Arizona. The GOP nominees will be Perry and Bachman, in that order.

Now everybody can go read a novel or play a video game.

No thanks required.

“he splits the Romney vote”
See my #31, whidh I posted before I saw yours.
I agree he splits the Romney vote in the sense that
I’m sure he’s there only to be taken as a ready-made running
mate for Romney. However , if anything, he presents an even more “moderate” face than Romney, and they’ll eventually cancel each other out as candidates for ANYTHING, let alone a Republican nomination. It’s a strange, and pathetically clueless strategy people like these two present to the voting public: as if NOTHING has happened in the past 2 1/2 years, not the ascendancy of a Thug Demogogue in the WH, or the massive Tea Party constituency that sprang into being to oppose him.

“Huntsman is the willing accomplice Republican spoiler candidate of the Obama people,”

I also would not discount that he is working for the Chinese. Remember how poppa Bush loved the Chinese. Probably still does.

I suspect that Huntsman is merely running in place and his “campaign” will last about as long as Newt’s.

Exactly. Just one more reason that there should be no early primary’s./ All primary’s should be on the same day.

Why do we continue to let a small unimportant state full of Yankee liberals ,with an open primary, jump ahead and give RINO’s a head start on real candidates.
