Former president George W. Bush was among hundreds of Texas Rangers fans who helped set a new Guinness World Record on Tuesday night for most people wearing sunglasses in the dark.
While most of the 33,533 people donned shades during the game with the Detroit Tigers at Rangers Ballpark, the mark to beat was 423 so Guinness officials only bothered to count two sections of the crowd, MLB.com reported.
That group included Bush, who often goes to Rangers games, and club President Nolan Ryan, who were both seen on the big screen when the public announcer told the crowd the record attempt was set to begin after the sixth inning.

All well and good, but how did this reporter get the Detroit Tigers involved when the game was between the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros?

I heard they are going to try this in Houston, but instead of sunglasses all the fans will be wearing blindfolds. Oh wait I think they do that already seeing how horrible the Astros are this year.

too bad it was not an interleague game against the Milwaukee Brewers so Corey Hart could have been there

My how much GW has aged since he left! And WTF is with Nolan Ryan? Homeboy packed on some pounds since his days of slinging the stitches.

They played the Houston Astros. It would have been better if the Rangers played an actual Major League team.
