Allen West says that he didnt do enough due diligence on the Pigford amendment and says he may have to take this one in the shorts:
[audio interview at link]
He should have done his homework.
STT posted this on the Florida messsage board along with this comment from Rep. West’s weekly update:
“- FY 2012 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations On Thursday, June 16, the House approved H.R. 2112 by a vote of 217-203, I voted YES. The bill would provide a total of $17.25 billion in non-emergency, discretionary budget authority in FY 2012 for government programs funded through the Agriculture and Rural Development Appropriations Act. The bill would represent a decrease of $2.67 billion or 13 percent below the FY 2011 funding level and a reduction of $5.03 billion or 22 percent below the Presidents request. H.R. 2112 meets and surpasses House Republicans pledge by bringing discretionary budget authority for Agriculture and related agencies down to nearly FY 2006 spending levels.
There were some 40 amendments to this piece of legislation and there are those who questioned my NO vote on Rep. Steve Kings amendment on Pigford. I accept full responsibility for not doing a complete due diligence and personal research on this amendment. I am mortal and a fallible human being who seeks to do his best daily, and improve as such.”
nobody is perfect. not even Ronald Reagan.
and no congressmen can be an expert on every bill,
especially when they can be 2000+ pages.
but West is unique, that he admits his mistakes,
and learns from them.
...and i can forgive him just about anything.
when he had to make a decision between his career, his retirement, everything he had worked for, for 20 years,
...and his men...
he chose his men.
Good. Now let him admit he was wrong in voting for Obama’s hundred million for school clinics (aka Planned Parenthood baby-killing recruitment centers), and in his support for killing some of the babies, and maybe I’ll begin to rethink my opinions of him.

re: Darrell Issa, Allen West Vote To KEEP Pigford Funds

I am proud of West for coming clean. That took guts.
Now, what’s Issa’s explanation?
It was a rookie mistake. He owned up to it and took responsibility for the result, unlike nearly every other politician.
We`d rather it didn`t, but sometimes..sh*t happens.
Great point!
And I also like your reference to Reagan, who I admire greatly overall, but signed into law some bad legislation in his time. The Military Ex-Spouse Protection Act, which screws military retirees out of up to 50% of their hard-earned retirement benefit. That one has far more reaching consequences than West`s Pigford vote.
Yes.....and he has the character to admit that.
Nice try.
Allen made the choice to join the CBC. Now he is voting with them.
Obviously, he didn’t t hear us last year... READ THE DAMNED BILL!
Maybe this will silence all of the idiotic talk of “drafting” another rookie that we know squat about for the White House.
But I doubt it.
No, you wouldn't.
"...nobody is perfect. not even Ronald Reagan."
I hear you. I really hear both of you. But I've seen nearly 24,000 pages of about as close to perfection as this world is likely to see this side of Rapture.
Her name is Sarah Palin. She didn't hand out the emails with the proviso that "Hey, I'm just a fallible human..."
Palin didn't cast her votes in Alaska with the excuse, "Hey, nobody's perfect."
She just did what needed doing, and did it just about as flawlessly as it could have been done.
That's the difference. The huge, all important difference.
BIG movers swept in after this report was filed. Will try to post some photos of the lovely event.

Its obvious DC has become bigger than 435 congressman. We need 4535 to keep an eye on the organized looting of the American Treasury.
Allen West
Herman Cain
Sarah Palin
I have noticed that the REPUBLICANS have at least three viable and popular candidates.
Now, who does the Democratic Party have?
How many politicians have said something like this in the last 50 years or so?
Do first, seek forgiveness later?
BINGO! And he maned up and admitted it instead of lying. How refreshing.
None...
