Respect...Tyree's convictions...He has the right...to his opposition to same-sex marriage

Known primarily for making an unforgettable catch, David Tyree lately has been speaking some pretty unforgettable words.

Tyree, whose catch in Super Bowl XLII is among the most amazing plays in NFL postseason history, has drawn widespread criticism for his strong opposition to gay marriage. The issue is a hot topic in New York, where the state legislature is currently considering whether to make New York the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage.

[+] EnlargeAP Photo/Hans Pennink David Tyree visited the New York state Capitol in Albany on Monday and shared his views against same-sex marriage with James Jasiewicz. In a recent video for the National Organization for Marriage, Tyree said passage of a gay marriage bill would lead to "anarchy." He followed that up by telling the New York Daily News on Monday that he would trade his iconic catch and the Super Bowl victory over the Patriots for a ban on gay marriage.

If you're expecting Tyree to recant anything he said, prepare to be disappointed. When ESPN.com reached him Monday night, Tyree wasn't backing down.

"As great as a catch as that was, that doesn't define me as a person," Tyree told me.

Tyree's comments have, predictably, generated two reactions: disdain and ridicule.

I'm going to try a different reaction: acceptance.

David Tyree isn't saying anything that say, Martin Luther King or John F. Kennedy didn't believe. Are they going to trash them?

Oh, and by the way, Tyree's position is exactly the same as President Obama's stated position. How can they criticize a football player for the same position the president has?

Madsen and Kirk-After the Ball—devised a strategy to market homosexuality and sell it to the middle class. Media and schools have been brainwashing the masses in schools and in media to think “good” is evil and “evil” is “good”. Been going on for over 20 years—a generation.

David Kupelian writes about it in “Marketing of Evil”. They use the Alinsky type model to vilify and demean and destroy anyone who doesn’t follow the PC group think.

“The Marketing of Evil reveals how much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped and sold to them as though it had great value. Highly skilled marketers, playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance, have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which all previous generations since America’s founding regarded as grossly self-destructive-in a word, evil.”

The black community generally isn’t down with the homosexuality issue. Especially when liberals try to make it “equivalent” to civil rights. It wouldn’t surprise me if even Jeremiah Wright isn’t crazy about gay marriage.
