Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters.
The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support.

Wow! Are YOU calling PALIN a FRINGE CANDIDATE? ..... truthfreedom
Well, according to a recent Gallup poll, only 8% of all voters state that they will "definitely vote for" Sarah Palin while 65% of all voters state that they "definitely NOT vote for" Sarah Palin.
That goes way beyond being a mere "Fringe Candidate".
That qualifies as being an "Über-Toxic Candidate".
That qualifies as "Guaranteed Reelection for Barack Hussein Obama if Nominated as the GOP Candidate".
God bless you...my thoughts exactly
Rollins was good enough for Magnus in.1984
And blasted Bush I over tax hike and lost his job over it
And is on record wanting to knock Mitts teeth out
He’s a hired gun with some ideology guts but I’m sure is imperfect but what campaign manger wouldn’t be by freeper standards?
Weigh for me his evils versus his good and who you think would be a better CD for Michelle...please?
Ronald Reagan chose Rollins in 1984 as his CD and put him in his administration where he served til butting heads with Regan....was Reagan dumb like Michele?
I doubt unless they themselves were given the job that anyone is a good enough CD for freepers
The folks managing Sarah last time outta the gate were far worse than anything I have heard Rollins do...they despised her
By freeper standards even old Lee Atwater would fallen short
thanks
These I think are the Zogby Interactive polls, and I think they’re a good measure of a certain segment of the voters.
Overall, I don’t think Bachmann is over 20% But it does show that among a more politically active, computer using group, Bachmann is doing that well. This could be gamed though.
Reagan 84? Sounds all right to me.
Tax attorney..graduated with honors
Raised five kids and 23 foster kids
Executor of her fathers assets and made farming decisions including negotiating leasing it out after managing it to pursue more politics
Founded a school
Minnesota senate and US Congress
But has never accomplished anything or had to make a decision?
That is ridiculous...she has exponentially more than Obama and is comparable to Palin in work history though Palin was never a lawyer nor Bachmann a governor
Palin is the most well known and the most popular Republican.
She draws the biggest crowds, huge crowds. She’s known to be an excellent campaigner, an excellent speech maker, an excellent debater. She most certainly would not be considered a fringe candidate.
Your numbers are troubling a bit. But the idea is that Palin, herself will be able to sell better than the tv news attacking her constantly have been. She goes up there, does a debate, does really well, and people will say “why was everyone saying she was stupid? She seems pretty smart to me.” and the positives and the negatives will change all around. She goes out there and runs, gets on a bus, her positives go up. Any time there’s any hint that she might be running, her numbers go up.
One thing to consider is this: When people are called on the phone to answer a survey, their knowledge of who is running is rather limited. So, you call someone on the phone, and you read a list of names, they’re going to assume that the people being listed are running, unless they know otherwise. And with Palin, they know that she isn’t at this point actively campaigning. So, when they’re answering on Palin, they know she’s not “in”, because they’d know it if she did announce. So, they’ll say no, because they know she isn’t running at the moment. With Giuliani, a lot of people asked that question would assume he is running. People know him, but aren’t paying so close attention that they’d know if he was running. They could put McCains name up there, just to scare people and make them mad. This isn’t directly related to your polling, but polling in general.
Too many men voters and too many women voters wouldn’t vote for an “all women Presidential ticket”, because it’s too new of an idea for them. An all women’s Presidential ticket has never been done before, at the major political parties level. Also, many women voters take offense to women politicians who are prettier than them, and many men voters wouldn’t like the idea of voting for a women’s Presidential ticket. Obama needs to lose on November ‘12, and an all women’s Presidential ticket would turn off too many voters in the general election to the point that Obama would end up winning re-election. It’s too bad, because I like both women. I wouldn’t have any problems in voting for such a ticket.
Most of Michele’s answers during the N.H. debate were very shallow answers. Michele has, already, mistaken past Concord, N.H. history with past Concord, Mass. history, and Ed Rollins has his own personal agenda against Sarah Palin. Michele wants to officially start her Presidential campaign from Waterloo, Iowa. I understand that Michele was born in Waterloo, Iowa, but is it a good idea to start from, of all places, Waterloo? Michele’s judgments on things is, already, questionable, at best.
My previous knowledge of MB came mostly from her radio calls to Hannity and Levin. The Rollins sign up caused me to learn more, much of it not good.

Some close to Ms. Bachmann privately refer to her as a "light switch". She flips on the charm to dazzle audiences or nail TV interviews, they say, then takes on a drill sergeant persona in private, where questioning her decisions draws suspicion of disloyalty. She's described as meticulous and worried about the finer details, such as soundtracks played to pump up rally crowds.
Ms. Bachmann has experienced frequent top-level staff changes in her congressional office since 2007. She's had six chiefs of staff in four years, five press secretaries, five legislative directors and three communications directors.
Ms. Bachmann discounts the staff churning as "growing pains" in an office that "moves at a fast rate of speed," and she stresses that many left for more influential jobs elsewhere.

Coupled with the hiring of Rollins this consistent high churning of staff indicates poor executive skills in being able to assess personnel qualifications. The comment regarding the "drill instructor" mind set is quality I've observed in my past dealings with liberal female mid-level government employees who know all the PC talking points without the necessary administrative skill set and only a shallow grasp of the necessary knowledge. A trait also common with gov lawyers. The ensuing chaos is a substitute for the necessary real actions that are required. Administering through fabricated crises while delaying real decision making through fear of being revealed as incompetent.
FR needs to be renamed bashmichelenachmann.com because that’s what it’s become.
His early genius has struck out too many times since that early success, he has primarily worked on RINO campaigns (such as Whitman, Huckabee, Huffington, etc., and more often than not have lost).
Palin's VP managers were not selected by her, I'm sure you know that. I'm also sure you know her instincts were right to go after Obama, and their advice was bad.
Michele has picked a has been loser, a loose cannon, and a RINO enabler, what can I say...her first (and only) executive decision.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to be able to help you in that regard.......
Rollins did not think Palin was ready. Nobody stole anybody.I hope you find a candidate, none of them are perfect they all seem to get corrupted in politics and money.
No, I believe in reality, not pipe dreams. If Rick Perry is your guy. Go for it.
He has problems too, but I suppose he is salvageable considering he is a 3 term Governor.
And, he is kinda purty. Must be why some of the men here don’t like him so much.
It's that simple, congresscritters don't become nominees or president, you can claim that's not reality, but then what else to expect from a cultist......
