Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters.

The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support.

That's way further than I would have gone in my own federalist ideology. I think her saying it was a state issue was consistent with what our Founders intended.

She is a States Rights Federalist. I am sure she didnt mean to say the Feds should intervene at the State level. Her opinion is clearly that a State should not have the right to force a person to engage in commerce either. I support that position. I dont want the state to force me to buy something I dont want or need.

Thx, it's about what I thought. The post had all the appearances of a spammed hit piece, either written by a paid operative and copied or a generated by a partisan hack looking for work, but I'll wait for the poster's reply.

Zogby's foreign owned polling company was pushing Christy and Cain last time. Now he says MB.

All hail the cult of Zogby.

Zogby has her in first and Rasmussen a strong second. That are the too most recent polls.

If she continues to run first or second, shouldn't other conservative candidates defer to her and let her take down Romney?

“Is it just me or is it about 6-8 months too early to be concerned about this?”

It’s too early to take the day to day polls to any high range concern, but it’s not too early for our candidates to grease their guns, so to speak. (The one’s that actually are going to run, that is.) “Time is not renewable”, and this is war, right?

Media is dying for Bachman and Palin to get the nomination and then get the boot! After all, their girl Hillary didn’t get to win and preside as the first female prez, so danged if they’re going to sit on the bench and let one of ours win. But, oh, do they want one of those two to go up as our nominee.

If you trust the LSM and RINO-media to tell you who to vote for, then suuure.

I trust Rasmussen. His accuracy rate has been very good. I have never seen any bias in his polling.

IMHO, polls at this point are pretty useless.”

Daily polls are utilitarian. They’re used for base riling, and for sending messages to shape the race, to the money people, and to the activists. Zogby is useless all the time, on any day. Rasmussen is generally “no fail” within 1 or 2 points at the most, at least historically.

There is no way to check the accuracy of a poll nine months before an election.

About Rasmussen, his RINO bias was on display last week when he refused to include Palin and Perry in a direct match up with Romney and Bachmann.

I predict Perry will take the nomination and announce Rubio Bachmann or Cain as VP.If he really wants to win, West. I am not thrilled about Perry but it is a reality we may have to face. “ ======

I am Undecided, but want to hear from Perry. Perry will be awesome.....IF, one caveat, IF he has a strong conservative Congress of both houses, to keep him from wondering off the reservation once in awhile! But he can win the middle in a walk and they will elect our next prez.

The MSM are not geniuses you know. What IF they are promoting Bachman because they believe Obama can trounce her? Anybody But Obama still leads in Rasmussen, who has been within 1 or 3 points of “no fail”, historically. Bachman can hold her own, and would have as good a chance as any of our conservative tier to beat Obama. The media make a living out of being wrong.

FRiend, the only top of ticket you’ll find Sarah on will be on your ballot, on the WRITE IN line. Because of that, we can depend on you to assist Obama’s re-elect numbers.

FriendofGeorge is just that. The Bush machine will be behind Romney. Palin begging guarantees Romney. Bachman has all the pluses of Palin and NONE of the negatives.

“It’s also a great way to see how STUPID a concept is when it causes undue hardship on a state. We can learn from that state’s mistakes and relegate the pol who introduced the lunacy to the ashbin.”

Case in point Massachusetts and the Healthcare refugees spilling over into New Hampshire. Anther example being industry bleeding Califorina.

It is true that leftist tend to setup camp in States that sit on natural trade rounds. This is because theses States Like Byzantium can tax other States by means of taxing their trade, but only to the point where their tax + natural costs of the trade round is less then the alternatives. (This is why opening up free trade with Mexico and Canada is helpful to central Conservative states, it helps us avoid paying California, Oregon and Washington union taxes for access to the pacific trade basis.)

That in turn helps force Califorina, Oregon, and Washington confront their own inefficiency. This is the basic logic behind free trade, of course it is premised upon fair trade.

Many Asian goverment tend to manipulate their currency to give themselves an artificially trade advantage. some like China are actively in the business of stealing our technology and otherwise property. The Feds are suppose to uses our financial and if necessary military might to protect us from theses threats. But our Federal Government has gotten itself so tied up and distracted by other matters such as expensive domestic boondoggles that they haven’t been paying attention to theses attacks.
