Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters.
The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support.

Well said he must be off picking a flower Sarah will run Sarah will not Sarah WAS THERE FIRST ya know! The others STOLE the entire Tea Party from SARAH ya know.
Nah knee nah knee boo boo gov bean counter says she was there first hush or he will take his toys and go home and tell mom n jimrob.
I predict Perry will take the nomination and announce Rubio Bachmann or Cain as VP.If he really wants to win, West. I am not thrilled about Perry but it is a reality we may have to face.
I like Bachman but Zogby had Cain in the lead not long ago and his polling as been a bit flakey of late. I will most certainly vote for Bachman if it turns out that Palin ops out. There are two candidates who will never get my vote and those are Romney and Hunstman. There are others that won’t make it far enough to get a chance to get it like Gingrinch or Sanatorum. Pawlenty and Cain have both shown themselves weak in the face of Romney and Cain was a big Romney supporter and big stimulus supporter prior to his current run. I’m beginning to think Cain is in it to run interference for Romney especially after his “Case Closed” comment. Pawlenty is just too nice and he and Romney don’t have a job creation record. Romney in particular left office with MA near bottom at 47th from bottom in job creation. Interestingly enough Gary Johnson has the best record on jobs of the candidates. Go figure.
Mrs. Bachmann needs to drop Margaret Thatchers name here and there. Its a good connection for people to have cemented in their heads.
yeah, something has smelled here since Rush pumped out his name over a month ago that got Perry’s ego stroking.
He seems like the “generic”, safe, typical conservative. However, there’s that whole Dream Act thing. I don’t see how this guy wins NM, CO, or NV with that piece of history on his record.
Therefore, please provide credible support for these allegations within 24 hours or I'll notify the Admin Moderator that we have a troll, probably working for a campaign. Nothing personal mind you, but I'm committed to doing what is within my capability to help assure that FR remains a grass roots forum.
Thank you.
He sat and sat on the pinacle. At first saying little for two years. Then he finally finds his voice and he tells us:
1. I really didn’t like state-run health care. So, by God, I did my best to minimize the damage. I’m paraphrasing, but that’s what it comes down to. Now that’s a leader.
2. I can’t prove climate change (aka global warming) exists but I believe it. What’s next? Maybe he can’t prove there is a fairy god mother, but he believes it. Now thst’s a man who can deal with reality. I’d really don’t want another 4 years of the Onada Fantasy. It doesn’t play well in a very dangerous world arena.
He said a third ridiculous thing, but I forget what it was. In any case, it isn’t hard to figure out why Bachmann surged. She’s the most conservative of those running and she isn’t afraid to name Onada as the cause of our misery. Bachmann not only knocked The Mittster off the mountain she also deep sixed the rest of the GOP/cnservative field (conservative pretenders, RINOs and libertarian wannabees).
I wonder what the GOP will do? The people are speaking and their candidates are not wanted or needed. It is obvious GOP leadership is rapidly approaching decision time. The decision: To return to being a conservative dominated party or simply throw in with Demrat Party. As for you libertarians, you have three choices:
1. Vote for libertarians for pres. where ever they show up on a ballot. This will ensure Onada or another demrat will win the presidency. Hello bigger and more intrusive government.
2. Sit out the election. Result: Same as above.
3. Vote for Onada or another demrat candidate.
4. Vote for the conservative candidate. Result: At least you will elect a president representing people who want to downsize goverment. Implicit in this vote is the elimination of laws, regulation and policies that impede individuals, groups and businesses from achieving life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You will also survive to have an opportunity to make your case to the American people during the following four years. As a conservative I would love you to be on our team, screeming bloody murder every time a person who was elected as a conservative fails to adhere to what they were elected to do.
All that said, I don’t think the conserative candidate who will be elected president is on the field yet. But she and Backmann will make a feisty pair. Although it shouldn’t matter, I don’t think a female-only ticket will fly with sufficient voters. I have great reservations about Bachmann’s choice of Rollins to manage her campaign. Him and his methods have outlived their usefulness.
I will be looking for the candidate who clearly and unabashedly explains his/her principles and how that will translate to national policy. I will be leery of any candidate who relies on the politics of personal destruction. All that has gotten us is a usurping Marxist in the WH.
Bingo! And they will be useless until just before the first primary, if then.
I don’t think Huntsman appeared at the debate. The article was weak, as they didn’t give a link to the poll, and they only gave the results for 4 candidates, apparently picked at random, the top 3, and for some weird reason, Huntsman.
She hasn’t done anything to defend.
Only in your eyes because of your mendacious behavior.
Won’t help any, the more you keep it up, the more people it turns off.
Zogby sez.
Thanks Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid!.
OMG, you really are a cultist.
You never answered my 3 questions, a serious problem IMHO. Only cultists can't defend their candidates.
When you say most won't notice Rollins is a shmuck, you may be right, but it doesn't excuse you who should know better.
Remember this the same Zogby that polled the 2008 California primary at Obama +13 and was off by -23 pts. (It was Hillary by +10.)
Good thinking. Rollins I do not like. Nor Rove. If the MSM is for em I am Agin Em.
...”That is why Bachmann won’t critisize Romney on Romneycare.”
And is that why Bachmann came out swinging at Romney for not supporting right to life” issues last week?
Your conspiracy theory for Bachmann to support Romney is worthless.
Michele Bachmann comments on her support of Frank Vennes Jr..
You can always post a general comment or question by addressing it to yourself.
Or heck, for that matter, address it to me. I won’t mind. {:0)
Enter the race late?
Its still 18 months to the election. Late will be after next January. Until then, the field is not even yet established.
