Chris Matthews stopped by Real Time with Bill Maher tonight to serve on the show’s panel, and he really likes Michele Bachmann. Her name came up and Matthews immediately referred to her as “my hero,” predicted she’d beat Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire primary, and praised her for being “real.” This is probably where we make a “thrill up my leg” reference.
Fellow panelist Ross Douthat strongly disagreed on the New Hapshire point, but Matthews wasn’t getting swayed. He talked about how Bachmann “stands for something.”

He was her biggest critic until last week. Is he being sarcastic? Is he trying to promote her because he thinks she’ll lose to Obama? Or...is he being serious? In the 90s, Matthews was great at what he does. He totally lost his mind in the Bush years and even moreso when Obama hit the scene...his true love.

Suddenly Michele Bachmann is the darling of Chrissy and Martin Bashir at MSNBC, Howie Kurtz, the RINOs and the neocons. Just a few weeks ago Matthews was calling Bachmann a crazy extremist.
You don't suppose these unlikely Bachmann supporters have an agenda, do you?
This coming from the guy who mocked her eyes on election night.
I will say this - there’s a weird phenomenon amongst the left, where they will demonize, and then come to hold a strange respect for those they view as an unapologetic hardliner. It happened with Reagan, it happened with Ariel Sharon. Ron Paul is getting some of that action while in office, which is also odd.
Sounds like old Chrissy thinks she'd be easy to beat and is promoting her for that reason.
I've not decided for or against Bachman but Chris Matthews is a liar who should stay out of conservative politics.

i’m sure lindy and others, will tell us this is a subtle plot by Matthews to sabotage her, because they hate and fear her so much...
seriously, i DON’T understand it. i truly did like her before. Bachmann is a good lady, who has done a lot to inspire conservatives.
...but i don’t trust the left, and i don’t trust Romney, and i certainly don’t trust Rollins.
and until Bachmann gets rid of Rollins, and reminds us clearly and specifically WHY she is better for American than Romney,

until then, i am very happy with Cain. he impresses me more and more. i wish others would look at him closer.

God love her, I don't think Mrs Backmann has any idea of the level of hell that will be visited upon her should she land anywhere on ticket.
I hope they are getting paid for their idiocy by a campaign. I'd hate to think people would advertise there level of stupidity for free.
