I’m not sure of the caliber but in a bedroom where my cousin and his friends had been admiring one’s boy’s new pistol, one kid put it on the nightstand and it went off and shot another kid.
He died.
Nobody had hold of the gun...so I reckon you could say it killed all on its own.
My 4th cousin set his rifle down to climb over the fence near a graveyard and the rifle went off and hit him the thigh, back in the 40s.
He bled out in that very dark, very creepy cemetery, alone.
At least one hunter in my area, every season, has a “rogue gun” go off and either wound or kill him.
It happens.
We should ban them.
Poor or no training in every case...unless you really want to sell the notion that triggers pull themselves.
If that is ever done, do you know who will still be armed?
