Over the last decade more parents are choosing to have their children taught at home as opposed to in a traditional school environment.
According to a study conducted by the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), during the spring 2010 there were a little more than 2 million K-12 homeschool students in the U.S.
A driving factor behind homeschooling becoming a more accepted way of learning is largely due to the accessibility of curriculum on the Internet, according to Rebecca Kochenderfer, senior editor of Homeschool.com and author of Homeschooling and Loving it!
“[Children] can study with some of the best teachers in the country right in their home via Whiteboard learning or online classes,” she says. “Everybody is homeschooling now because in the information age, everyone is learning things and they have to learn it so quickly.”

Homeschooling is right for any child unless their homeschool teachers are flaming, idiot liberals, in which case you may as well got to public schools.

100 percent homeschool supporter. I am very impressed with the kids who are home schooled and they are NOT social invalids as some would like us to think.
One of the main problems parents have in homeschooling their kids is the child care aspect.
Even though they may be competent to teach and have all the resources they need - and the internet is just about all you need, although I prefer workbooks - they have to give up an income to have someone stay home with the kids.
Which just shows that schools have become the taxpayer funded babysitter of millions. Generally an America-hating babysitter with the highest rates of child abuse of any group. . . with a salute to all the good, kind and patriotic teachers who I know are still out there.
I would say usually yes. There are homeschool cooperatives growing now, which should help parents with hectic schedules.
Ha, ha...you won’t see many of those types homeschooling...
Thanks to homeschooling and ROTC, our son went to Valley Forge (yes, that Valley Forge), and then graduated with honors at Lackland Air Force base basic. He is now an outstanding Staff Sargent and is saving money to put himself through a Police Academy.
So, through this, you know how I feel about thegovernment/socialist education programs. They are a POS.
The public school system is successful
at achieving the goals that it is intended to accomplish.
Of course, it doesn’t achieve what they tell US they’re trying to accomplish.

HomeSchooling is GREAT PROVIDING the family is disiplined enough to do it RIGHT! My wife and I homeschooled ALL of our kids until they were in HS. HOWEVER I have seen SO many “Homeschool””parents” who use it(homeschooling) as a “dodge” and a way to be LAZY!

You’re sure right there...I homeschooled both our grandkids (a girl and a boy). There was never a lack of things to do...in fact there were so many things, it was hard for them to make a choice on what activities to get involved in. One of the “funnest” things they liked to do was go to a monthly homeschooler’s get together at the local ice skating rink. It sure helps to live in a community that is homeschooler-friendly, too.
Or, IOW, there is not such thing as a good public school.
Good point. Homeschooling loses the advantage of a division of labor, a loss attributable to a breakdown in civil trust.
HOORAY Homeschoolers!!! Competition will always give you the best possible product at the lowest possible cost. Perhaps we can begin to DEFUND this socialist collective cranking out Marxist drones with collectivist agendas. As one example...how do you de-program the young children (and the now young adults/parents) indoctrinated by Al Gore’s “Earth in The Balance”? The damage done is incalculable.

I don’t know what the answer is, though getting rid of the Dept of Education and turning the matter back to the States where it belongs should be a starting point.

Well sure, but not too many of us responsibly plan everything out beforehand.
My point is, the main objection parents seem to have to homeschooling is that they can’t afford to do so. Concerns about bad education and poor socialization have been so thoroughly debunked that they are fading fast.
So we come to the nitty gritty: “I can’t homeschool because we’d have to give up our second income.”
Now we need more homeschool support for young adults at the college level. Many libtard colleges offer remote distance learning but they charge full Club Med resort experience prices if not more.
The market is ripe for a credible online living-certification web site.

Perhaps, but is it not also lazy to send your kids out to someone else to care for/educate 8 hours a day?
At least the first two years could be taken remotely or at the local community college, with your “kid” staying at home in your supportive environment.
Also, why college? Homeschoolers are natural entrepeneurs.
Start a business.
