Well sure, but not too many of us responsibly plan everything out beforehand.

My point is, the main objection parents seem to have to homeschooling is that they can’t afford to do so. Concerns about bad education and poor socialization have been so thoroughly debunked that they are fading fast.

So we come to the nitty gritty: “I can’t homeschool because we’d have to give up our second income.”

Exactly the same reason so many people have their babies in day care. “I'd love to stay home, but...”

In my experience it is usually the husband who will not take on the responsibility of being the sole provider. Mine was nervous about it, but thankfully he agreed with me and it made the decision to homeschool even easier.
