SAN DIEGO The man who hoarded bomb-making materials in his North County home, turning the rental into a virtual bomb factory before it was burned down last year, was sentenced Monday to 30 years in federal prison.
George Jakubec, 55, received the mandatory minimum sentence for the two felony charges he pleaded guilty to carrying a firearm during a bank robbery and during an attempted bank robbery.
The U.S. Attorneys Office dropped several other felony counts related to the explosives in exchange for his admissions to possessing the cache of dangerous chemicals, detonators and other bomb-making materials found in his Escondido-area home.
Why he had so many explosives remains a mystery that may never be revealed.
During the sentencing in San Diego federal court Monday, the U.S. Attorneys Office said explicitly that there was no evidence found during an exhaustive investigation that Jakubec was connected to a terrorist group or that he intended to use the explosives against people or property.

Not at all. Some materials being manufactured in homes and apartments are so volatile that burning the building is the only option. Search for TATP.
Hmmmm.
Yep...agree.
Hmm. I’ve got a couple pounds of black powder, a couple pounds of Pyrodex and a few pounds of smokeless power around here.
I wonder if I have “bomb-making factory”?
