Rangel is still representing New York in Congress; his constituency gave him an overwhelming mandate to continue service after strong evidence of various types of money fraud. If NY9 survives, then it is likely that Weiner will get a similar electoral nod.

I know. It’s incredible that Rangel survived, but obviously NYC Dems don’t care.

I remember that when Al Sharpton was charged with tax evasion because he was taking money given to his “church” and spending it on tacky Caddies and bling, the government lost the case because virtually all of the witnesses (mostly impoverished little black grannies) said that they knew he was spending it on himself but that was ok because he was a black preacher and they thought he deserved it.

What passes for a mind among Dems is a little hard to fathom.
