In a final act of revenge, Elizabeth Edwards secretly recorded a testimony in her dying days that helped prosecutors indict husband John last week, it was claimed today.
John Edwards is due to stand trial on charges that could lead to a 30-year jail sentence after he pleaded not guilty on Friday to using $925,000 in campaign funds to cover up an affair and love child.
The estranged wife of the former presidential candidate is alleged to have filmed a damning testimony that was central to the prosecutions case for charges.
Friends said the cancer victim, who died in December, wanted to haunt her estranged husband and his mistress Rielle Hunter, with whom he fathered a child and made a sex tape
Bruce Baron, an expert on federal law, said: The value of a potential dying declaration, or tape, containing the testimony of Elizabeth Edwards, is devastating to any case or defence that Edwards would have.
On the secret video, Elizabeth spells out everything she knew about Johns affair with Rielle and how he managed to cover it up for so long, a source told the Enquirer.
She also spills all of Johns lies many of which could be what sends him up the river.
Elizabeth wanted to haunt John and Rielle literally from her grave and she has, the source told the Enquirer.
She hated them with a vengeance. This was a woman who took her final breath in the same bed where John once had sex with his mistress.

“There is no Hate like the Hate that Love hath turned/ and Hell hath no Fury like that of a woman Scorned’’.
“Despite this, she was still better looking than Reille.”
A horse’s skull is better looking than Reille. But she can retire now, eh?
LOL, go away.
You don't have power on FR to make such a statement.
Elizabeth didn't want to die and leave her little kids with her philandering dirtbag husband. I can't blame her for being bitter.
Absolutely. And there's a book about inside the presidential campaigns that paints an awful picture of who the Edwards were.
Elizabeth Edwards...

I don’t have the power to MAKE the statement??? Gosh you don’t have the power to tell me I don’t have the power. Dad will go to jail. God will deal with Mom. And people like you will continue to want to pick and chose who shall be held accountable for their actions, and the choices will be based on emotion. If he broke the law, he needs to be held accountable.
I disagree with the posters on this thread who disparaged EE because she recorded this video describing what her (then) husband did that was illegal. What was she supposed to do, remain alive long enough to testify? I’m sure she wished that she could.
I don’t think it is evidence that she was vindictive or hateful to record this video. She merely had no other way to be around to testify so she had to preserve her testimony this way.
She could have totally forgiven him prior to filming the video, but wanted justice to be served. It didn’t have to be about revenge.
Yup. She was an e-ticket, all right.
The guys in jail will go for his girly looks and girly ways.

No one in the Edwardses political circle felt anything less than complete sympathy for Elizabeths plight. And yet the romance between her and the electorate struck them as ironic nonethelessbecause their own relationships with her were so unpleasant that they felt like battered spouses. The nearly universal assessment among them was that there was no one on the national stage for whom the disparity between public image and private reality was vaster or more disturbing.
With her husband, she could be intensely affectionate or brutally dismissive. At times subtly, at times blatantly, she was forever letting John know that she regarded him as her intellectual inferior. She called her spouse a hick in front of other people and derided his parents as rednecks. One time, when a friend asked if John had read a certain book, Elizabeth burst out laughing. Oh, he doesnt read books, she said. Im the one who reads books.
There's more. A LOT more.
I don't think he goes to jail. I think he smokes the tailpipe first.
A wife may testify against her husband. A wife can’t be compelled to testify against her husband. Vast difference between the two.
Nope. You cannot tell another poster to go away. Live with it.
“Can you imagine Edwards in prison? lol I dont see him lifting weights or getting tats, he will be many dudes bitch lol”
Lawyers actually do OK in prison, to the extent prison can be OK. Simple reason: everyone in there wants out, and they need a lawyer. Post-conviction relief efforts and appeals are the lawyers’ “Stay Safe in Jail” card. Even the inmates who have nothing to lose, and have exhausted all appeals, will be kept in line by the prisoners who still want the appeals written on their behalf.
Check out “Will”, by G. Gordon Liddy. Interesting read, and reveals how the farce called a prison system works in practice.
Not defending Edwards, but how is this admissible? Given her motive to seek revenge against Edwards, I’d think that a video deposition where the defense does not have the opportunity to cross examine would be thrown out in short order. Depositions of the written and electronic sort are sometimes allowed, but not usually under these circumstances.
