Rollins Wants Palin Allies for Bachmann (also wants Sarah as ally!)
CNN ^ | Wednesday, June 8, 2011 | Paul Steinhauser and Gabriella Schwarz

Veteran Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins, who signed on to steer Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's looming presidential bid, said his recent criticism of Sarah Palin is not part of an electoral strategy.

SNIP

But the former CNN contributor said he needs to adjust from "being a political analyst back to being a strategist."

"I don't think Palin runs and if she does we will deal with it. There obviously is a trend in the media to link them," Rollins told CNN. "In the long run we want Palin and her people as our allies."

In an interview with POLITICO, Rollins said the Bachmann campaign will be "so much more substantive."

"People are going to say, 'I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman who's every bit as attractive,'" Rollins said.

Stalking Horse candidates are Rollins' specialty.

Just make sure you watch The Undefeated.

Bannon put it very well when he stated that Palin’s true story is somehow hidden in broad daylight.

Wowwwww.... Rollins is an idiot. He wants Sarah’s people but he slams her with ‘stupid but pretty’? Maybe he ought to look in the mirror. He’s not pretty or smart. What a flipping fool. If I were Bachmann I’d fire him this second. Going after her political sister is the epitomy of S T U P I D.

It takes one to employ one...that would be Bachmann and Rollins.

Your desire to take the high road is admirable, but it seems pretty naive to me. When someone who has claimed to be on the side of good starts to attack others on the same side [Palin], while allowing evil [Romney] to proceed unscathed, that someone has turned to the side of evil.

If conservatives want to attack policies of other candidates, that’s just fine with me. But sending Ed Rollins out to call Palin ‘stupid but pretty’ isn’t attacking on policy, isn’t productive, and isn’t even remotely acceptable. Look at what you are defending!

Representative Bachmann better get in front of this fast. She “was” on my short list. This is an incredible lapse of judgement. No more donations to her. Off of Her mailing and phone lists. She has surrendered to the elite.

bachmann worked directly for jimmy carter... her husband worked directly for jimmy carter... they met as liberal political activists in college... her quotes are on the internet... she was a dim lawyer... a tax lawyer at that... and she has telegraphed her liberalism on her backing the recent lying, cheating and stealing “Continuing Resolution” that she voted for.

Her hiring of ed rollins and her consent on his attacks on Palin have shown us that she is just like james carville or paul begala... bachmann is and has always been part of the problem and she has never been part of the solution. She is a lying poser just like krauthammer and will... perhaps she is owned by romney. I'd bet that she will endorse romney before this is all over. NOTHING should surprise you when it comes to the corruption that is today's republican party leadership. bachmann is part of that cabal... lock, stock and barrel.

I liked Bachman very much up until yesterday; now I doubt her good sense in hiring Ed Rollins and, if forced to chose, I will chose Sarah any day. And anyone who disses Sarah Palin can jump in the swamp.

Well said. Couldn't have said it better myself.

“Bachmann is hardcore and never hides, goes into the fire and always fights it out.”

Yes, Bachmann is a fire bomb thrower, which is why she gets any notice at all. While her sometimes “raw meat” behavior gets the attention from the troops, it, of itself, is the best arguement against her.

You’ll note that in American politics the House of Representatives has always attracted Bachmann types. Populist and pugnacious, House memebers are the most flamboyant of all pols. Always interesting to watch, they have proven historically to be poor Presidential candidates.

One of the reasons that the Founders limited the House members terms to two years is that they wanted them to be closer to a often fickle and ever changing popular viewpoints of the general population. As I said before, not presidential material in most people’s minds.

Bachmann, at best, will keep the pseudo conservatives honest, and that will be a good thing.....

Hello Michele?? *crickets chirping* Are you so gutless that you will not put a stop to this leftist-style, juvenile trashing of Sarah. You must support it, BUT you don’t have the courage to say it yourself. You are NOT a leader.
Y’know, you were my second or third choice behind Sarah, but NOW I’ll write in a candidate if Sarah doesn’t run, even if it’s just you against Romney in Pa. I don’t trust you, Michele! Bob

Thanks largely to Ed and strategy to attack Sarah, I’ll be supporting Herman Cain for President instead of Bachmann if Palin decides not to run.

Well, the battle lines are drawn; let the internal fighting, fussing and feuding begin. We Pubbies never miss an opportunity to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. We always manage to "divide and conquer" each other and then send our candidate into the General Election, beaten, battered, broke and bruised. Oh hell yeah; I smell victory in 2012..... pfffttt..... yeah right.

I’m defending nothing. The high road, for me, is the only way to go.

Just imagine a Primary debate between Michele and Sarah. What do you think would happen.

Just your humble opinion is what I am asking for. Do you think Michele would attack Sarah?

Sarah has 20 years experience in politics and is a regular person, just as we are. I personally believe, if Michele went against Sarah, Michele would walk off that stage with her head held down.

Sarah has been attacked since she jumped onto the stage as the 2008 VP. Look at what she has accomplished since then.

NO ONE has been able to bring her down. satan rules this world; however, it doesn’t have a hold on Sarah.

That is what I hold on to. Even the most “respectable” people (Michele) can get sucked into the “power” thing. Sarah cannot.

As Sarah has stated competition will give us the cream of the crop (my words, not hers).

I just CANNOT wait for Sarah to give us the word ‘GO!!!!”. I bet you, as soon as that happens, we will see a lot of them dropping out of the race.

I have yet to see ANY evidence Palin intends to run and that includes the wishfull thinking of her supporters.

I don't know if Palin will run, but there is plenty of evidence that shows she might. Perhaps you're the one who is wishful thinking.

If Palin doesn't run, I would now predict that most of her support would choose Cain over Bachmann,
