Anthony Weiner, the US congressman who lied about lewd online exchanges with female admirers, was mired in further controversy on Tuesday, as women alleged he used his office to carry out the affairs.
The married New York Democrat was under intense pressure as the reason he gave for not resigning – that he kept the sexual messages and pictures separate from his work – was challenged.
A Las Vegas Blackjack dealer claimed he had called her for phone sex from a congressional line, while a pornographic actress alleged he offered to have someone from his "team" help her prepare misleading responses to media enquiries.
In a tearful confession during a press conference on Monday night, Mr Weiner, who is facing calls to resign, said he had "inappropriate conversations" with six women over three years via Facebook, Twitter and telephone.
Last week he sent a picture of his crotch to a student in Seattle via Twitter, and accidentally made it public. He then claimed his account was hacked, but the story unravelled when more pictures came to light.
When asked: "Did you use government resources for this kind of activity?", he replied: "I did not".

This is what settles it for me. I give him a lot of credit for coming clean yesterday and subjecting himself to the media gauntlet. However, when at the point where you are admitting and 'repenting' for your past lies, it irreparably damages your case by telling new lies in the midst of it. Three strikes, and you're out, Weiner.

It also emerged today that Weiner conducted several of his intimate on-line liaisons while his wife was out of the country, and at least five when he was in Washington for official House debates.

And according to Radaronline.com, five of the 15 charged cyber sex sessions between the pair occurred when the congressman was in Washington for crucial house debates.

After examining of congressional records, the site found Weiner appeared in the House on January 20, March 3 and 16, April 13 and September 20 - all days he was sexting Weiss.
It is not clear if the messages were sent during his time on the House floor during key debates.
According to Weiss, Weiner also contacted her during the crucial government shut-down on April 7.
In a jibe at House speaker John Boehner, Weiner joked he could not send Weiss explicit messages as he’d been ‘punching the speaker’ all night during the debate.
My estimation is we need this to drag out another couple of weeks, at least. The last thing needed is an early climax!
It will be interesting to see if his pathetic party will take him down to get this off the front page or if they choose to stick by this pervert/loser (which only emphasizes their hypocrisy).

I’ve seen a lot of Anthony Weiners in the corporate world. Their rise to an arrogant power hold at the expense of others is fast and furious. Their behavior causes distrust and amusement at the highest levels. Once they have outlived their usefulness, willing to implement horrible policies, cutbacks, and other corporate unpleasantries, they are out the door in much the same manner as Weiner.
