Tea Party Express preemptively surrenders gun rights to RINOs
National Examiner ^ | June 6, 2011 | David Codrea

Posted on 06/06/2011 8:11:56 PM PDT by Neil E. Wright

“The Tea Party will support whoever wins the GOP presidential nomination - - even if that person is former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney,” Fox News reports. “That's the affirmative word from Tea Party Express chair Amy Kremer.”

What does that mean for gun owners?

Despite attempts to put on a public face that belies his record (with assistance provided courtesy of NRA management on more than one occasion), Romney has sided with the gungrabbers when he’s had the power to do so.

How does one “support the Second Amendment” and then square that with imposing an “assault weapons” ban, ending private sales and the Brady bill? And who would be dumb enough to actually fall for such self-serving and contradictory weasel words?

Kremer’s white flag-waving before any shots have been fired fits right in with an admonition Romney made last year that disaffected voters surrender to the Republican establishment and just accept whatever the party serves up for them. And that’s the message being spread by the GOP leadership, in its recent call for unity to trump “purity.”

“This nation’s troubles started when God was removed from the public square.”

The heart of our problems, the beginning of our decay.

You are so right, Onyx.

That’s going to be a pretty tough sell in 12.

But there’s no evidence a moderate is more electable that a conservative. Tea Party will likely be working hard in the primaries. If it’s dragged out, the tea party will be turning out votes for the conservative in the primaries, I’d assume, and the tea party has made it clear it doesn’t like Romney. Tea party wasn’t there 4 years ago, moving bodies to the polls.

It seems that more people are buying into the crock that Amy Kremer is the mouthpiece of the Tea Party.

These cretinous RINOs have never spoken for me and never will. How ‘bout you guys?

I can’t figure out if it’s old age making me cranky or RINOs.

It can't be just old age; otherwise I'd also be for hanging the treasonous RINO bastards.

“The Tea Party” is us; we are purposefully leaderless. We are the mass of productive Americans, as opposed to the takers.

The GOP has had every opportunity to get with the program. That they haven’t is an indicator that they won’t—and have no intention to as long as their winning strategy of spooking the herd and betraying them with no consequences continues to pay off.  Put another way, if there’s no “or else” attached to bad behavior, what incentive do they have to ever change?

"But if we don’t accept the lesser of two evils, Obama will win! And we’ll lose our right to keep and bear arms!!!" some will no doubt warn.

Those who believe that have already preemptively surrendered theirs. (right to bear arms)

I will never vote for Romney, even if he coaxes a prominent tea party supporter to run as his VP.

The only difference between Obama and a non Constitutional Republic type Constitution following GOP president would be that the road to socialism and ruin will slow down a little.

The President is always considered the leader of the party, so the others (senators and house members) always follow along.

If the GOP runs another of those "it's his turn" types, the ruination of the country will be on their hands.

Not the millions of Patriots and Constitution following citizens who are fed up with the lessor of two evils plot and will NOT play the game of politics with them.

You are correct. That said the TPE has been very instrumental in several local elections and appears to be flush with CASH!

Today I received a "Tea Party Express" questionnaire. This mailing has a "Washington" return address and is identical to the Republican mailings. Included are fund raising pledges at the end of the form.

The PAC sending this mailing is "www.oourcountrydeservesbetter.com". I'm not buying it. The rats have co opted the organization. Heads up Freepers.
