I'm afraid Baroness Thatcher has Alzheimer's Disease and is pretty far gone with dementia. Her daughter has written on the subject. Lady Thatcher missed Prince William's wedding and has largely disappeared from public view, which suggests her condition isn't good. There's a danger that any meeting Sarah Palin has with her will be portrayed in the media as a crass, exploitative publicity stunt. There's powerful symbolism in a meeting between the two, but it might be better to give it a miss.

She has other health problems also. She made an appearance a few months ago but isn't well.

Fears grow over 'frail' Baroness Thatcher after no public appearance for nearly two months

The Mail on Sunday can disclose that she had polymyalgia rheumatica, a syndrome which causes muscle inflammation in the neck and shoulders.

Life is SO not fair. Alzheimer’s took President Reagen from us when he may have given us so much more. Now it robs us of Mrs. Thatcher.

I think she should be given the privacy President Reagan asked for when he pointedly saw and did not pull any punches when he said good-bye when he went into his self-described “long journey...”

I thought I’d read somewhere that Baroness Thatcher had wanted to meet Sarah. One of the Members of Parliament had mentioned intending to take Sarah to see her. If the visit was initiated by the MP, it’s not crass exploitation on Sarah’s part.
