Her history is correct. He did try to frighten the Regulars (British) by telling them 500 armed Americans were waiting for them.

Heck yeah — it is a direct quote and she was 100% correct in what she said. She isn’t “misquoted.” Her historical accuracy is misunderstood from those who got their US History from “Doonesbury”
