“It’s all Greek to me!”
Unfortunately, something worse will take its place.
Me too unfortunately, and also unfortunately I move to much so I can't use my cable companies address because my next move might be to place that has a different cable company
Also with aol, I have one personal email, one professional and one spam fodder one where I buy things on (Like from Amazon and such, ).
No other site gives you 3 emails (well Google does but I would NEVER use them)
But I stopped paying for AOL connections and so I just use the free email so they aren't really getting much from me
Cable modem.
You must promise not to laugh, but I use the aol browser the most, although I do sometimes use firefox. I find it a bit confusing.
I told you I was an old fogey.
The entire process won't take more than about 10 minutes and just in case you're don't feel comfortable with the new configuration, your AOL set-up will always be there for you to fall back on.

I’m going offline and will be returning in the morning. Please let me know how you’ve fared. The best way would be to send a message via FR mail. We’ll catch up with each other within the next 24 hours.
Good Luck!
Democrat Underground, Kos, Huffington Post... the liberal fad sites come and go. Meanwhile, good old commercial-free Free Republic (born September, 1996) keeps on trucking along, 14 years and counting.
AOL and Huffington Post have the most biased headlines...in favor of the Democrats. Anything positive about the Democrats and anything negative about the Republicans, that is AOL-Huffington Post. DISGUSTING. I hate reading the news now on AOL.
Twelve reasons why the AOL Huffington Post merger is going down in flames.Gee I hate snap tests but I'll give it a shot...
Why not just get an new email address? No way would I use AOL since Huffington is involved. I’m sure they read all emails, like Google does their gmail. There are plenty of others to choose from. I like Hushmail and GMX. Also Yahoo for online orders, and things that will end up sending a lot of junk mail. Using different email addresses for different things makes it much easier for me. Hushmail you can send encrypted messages. That way, the actually recipient is the only one that can read it, even if someone else is on their computer because they have to know the secret password you gave to them to even access and open the email.
Old fogey that I am, I started out on AOL and have not been able to wean myself from it. I am comfortable using it for e-mail and favorites, and I cant figure out how to have my e-mail address book handy when I am on other sites. So, I use AOL for that stuff, and try to avoid looking at their so-called news.

I know what you mean. I used to use it as well and it is convenient and hard to wean off of, but you can do it. The software is MISERABLE and invasive. Getting rid of all the AOL junk it leaves on your hard drive after you uninstall the software is a task, but it can be done by slowly and carefully going into the registry and deleting anything that says AOL of America Online.
One of the things I missed the most was having everything in once place. My favorites, address book, etc. it was very user friendly...... BUT the browser is and always was LOUSY!! A bastardized version of IE which also stinks.
Just keep in mind, there are plenty of other choices for email. Once you uninstall AOL software you will get used to the other in a month or so and your computer will thank you for it, trust me. PLUS now that Huffington is involved I wouldn’t trust them. I’m sure they spy on your emails just like gmail does. Try Hushmail, it’s great. Even Yahoo is better than AOL.
The ONE thing that I will always miss is that you can stick a photo right in the email and it will resize it if you choose that option. Makes it very easy to send emails with pics between the lines. I have yet to find another email that will let you do that.
I cant figure out how to have my e-mail address book handy when I am on other sites

Many other email services allow you to import your address book from AOL in one click. Also, if it misses a few it only take a short time to enter them. Just be sure to get your new email all set up with all of your contacts before you uninstall the AOL software, if you decide to do it.
I started using it for business many years ago and there are thousands of people that have my AOL email address. It would be too much trouble to change-over now and risk losing a potential client.

Just email everyone on that list your mew email address. It’s not that hard.
No other site gives you 3 emails (well Google does but I would NEVER use them)

Hushmail gives you as many as you want and it’s well worth 35.00 a year.
Unlimited email aliases with hushmail. 35.00 a year, encrypted emails if you want them encrypted.

If you are using cable, I can assure you that your speed using AOL is not even close to what it is using Firefox.
LOL!!! Summed it up nicely.
