Charles Krauthammer has kind words for both Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. He thinks it is obvious that she is not going to run, he calls it a "smart" move. Krauthammer believes she definitely has a future in GOP politics.
Krauthammer thinks Bachmann is a serious candidate, being a sitting member of Congress and her knowledge of policy.

You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see that Palin has been running since 2008. Obviously, the Depends-wearing crew of know-it-alls can’t see, or refuse to see what most of us have known. They are sowing the seeds of their irrelevance by these idiotic statements and “expert” opinions.
Krauthammer is becoming less and less relevant by the minute. Stayed in DC too long. Completely out of touch with reality, and living in his own liberal media controlled little world. Poor fellow. Time to put this irrelevant clown out to pasture.

The country was not facing such a doomsday scenario under either Nixon, Ford, or even Carter, as it faces now.

....it will be because she feels the front-runner can do the job, like DeMint or Pawlenty - and she will help pull them over the finish line. If it looks like it will be Romney, she's in (to save us from ourselves).
No, it's not OBVIOUS. But it's clear that she is giving it serious consideration -- which is quite a different thing.
The 'One Nation' tour of the Mid-Atlantic and New England was an effort to ascertain the depth and breadth of her support.
The upcoming visit to the UK is an attempt to understand the unique requirements of leadership (Thatcher) and the unique diplomatic relationships involved (Cameron).
It's evident that Palin is giving serious consideration to running -- more consideration, perhaps, than any candidate for President has given in the past hundred years. But, no, as of now, she's not running.
Yet.
Obama will be tough to beat and anyone who thinks any Republican can beat him is smoking too much.
I don't think Romney can beat Obama but I think Palin can. And, I think Pawlenty can too...well, maybe.
Bachman, IMHO, is not a contender. She should do a term as a Governor, at least.
We need proven Constitutional Conservatives and proven Executives.
And yes, I'm fully aware Obama doesn't have what I mention above. However, he knows how to get elected and he's ruthless. Don't think A N Y Republican can beat him.

A kind word for Sarah? I’d call it a snotty dismissal—as usual.
A lot of these pundits are going to find themselves washed up has-beens, when Sarah comes riding in from the cattle drive. Or, at least, they’ll find that they have a lot of ‘splainin’ to do.

This isn't Krauthammer sucking up, this isn't back-peddling. It's consistent with what he's said in the past.
The very day she announced her resignation he was clear on what she should do: "...become a national figure, a conservative figure, work on the movement..." She's done exactly that.
He argued 2012 would be too early but by 2016 the issue of her resignation would be gone.
