(Reuters) - Defense Secretary Robert Gates bluntly told Marines on Sunday that they won't be able to opt out of their enlistment just because they disagree with a government decision to end a ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Gates, who is on a tour of Afghanistan to bid farewell to the troops before stepping down at the end of the month, was quizzed by a Marine sergeant about the controversial policy during a question and answer session at a base in southwestern Helmand Province.

Gates is a lying scumbag. I predict the butt bandits will have a field day. No one will be able to do or say anything about it, because the military will be overly protective of the butt bandits to prove how this new way will work. They will also promote butt bandits over others just because of their butt banditry just as the army promoted females ahead of more qualified males in the mid 70s.
And they will leave after their enlistments are up, en masse!
A buddy of mine was a Drill Sargeant at Fort Sill during that time.
The integration of male and female basic training turned out to be a nightmare because of the different PT standards, sexual shenanigans, etc.
I think these issues will be handled kinda quietly amongst the Marines. Their may be some sniper like activity and sappers in the gate kicking the hell out of a select person or two. An advanced “blanket party” if you will.
Races can be integrated. Sexes can not.

Many of these people joined the military when certain standards were in effect. A unilateral change in those standards represents a breach of the contract under which those persons joined the military.
I have no problem with deviants and feminists dying in combat; apparently it’s their country now anyway.
I’m really puzzled that any “normal” people even see it as something worth dying for anymore - their country is gone.
