Republican Romney: 'the world is getting warmer'

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.

"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.

"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."

The former Massachusetts governor fielded questions on topics ranging from the debt ceiling to abortion on his first official day of campaigning for 2012 Republican primary nomination.

Romney leads opinion polls in New Hampshire by a wide margin, and is among the top contenders nationally to win the Republican contest to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama.

Well, maybe Gaia is the as yet untold name of the wife of the god of the Mormon earth. She would be a fellow god (godess) according to Mormon lore. Romney might be letting us know where he stands, supporting Gaia’s causes if he gets elected. Can’t ya hear it now ... “We are five days away from serving our Goddess, Gaia. The sea levels will stabalize, the weather will abate, and all crops will yield bountious harvests. The wife of god has proclaimed it, if we will only acknowledge her dominion.”

Romney just needs to sit down, shut up and let a real candidate run for President.

Why does this idiot not understand that Democrats do not need to vote for a Republican that acts like a Democrat when they can simply vote for a Democrat?

Number 3, Number 9 and Number 2. The rest of you, goodbye and beat it.

Mr. Romney. You can leave. No way in hell.

The very fact they’re putting this travesty in front of us only reflects their contempt of us.

International globalists love global warming ... because they get an unfixable/unprovable problem that allows them to establish a global tax to provide the necessary means to establish a global government. Romney is definitely one of the team of Republicans and Democrats that will sell us down the river to execute their dream. After a year of record snowfall, the globalist come marching out during the beginning of summer to gin up the state of fear machine to convince the masses to let them save the world. But yet another scam by the elite.

"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."

IF he is really a true believer he would park his behind and stay home. There are literally some people who would NOT be opposed to return to the horse and carriage days for us peasants.

Given the cost of energy, why is it NOT noted by these college educated idiots there is less vehicle emissions being released even by government subsidized corn juice. Romney is pimping to those majority under 40 college educated intellectuals that voted for the 'one' in the last election.... It has taken the liberal intellectual a few generations to pick up where the French Revolution took Europe, but 'we' are getting there.

Why doesn’t he run as a democrat? And why doesn’t the republican party tell him to get out?

"Republican Romney: 'the world is getting warmer'"

But that's not a problem. I dream of sunbathing on the Arctic circle. Hey, Romney, are you prejudiced against people in the north or somethin'? ;-)

Lefties are so gooey and squishy--probably from sucking out our precious bodily fluids.

1. Because he is a Progressive Republican
2. The republican party is about to tell him to get out. In the primary elections. Mittens knows this. That is why he feels compelled to come out of the liberal closet now. That is all there is to it.

You bring up a very interesting point: Maybe Romney will run as a 3rd party candidate.

Typically I will not carry debate to another thread. This an example that shows the state of the Republican Party.

In 1992, Romney, after switching to Independent in the 80s because of Reagan, was only giving to, and fund raising for, Democrat candidates, it was 1993 when he registered Republican so that he could run for the Senate.
