I have a similar problem here in rural Arkansas. Especially with corn. I solve it with my Ruger 10/22 quickly and efficiently with no screaming at all.

Keeps my garden and my marksmanship skills in good shape.

Subsonic shells are available for those in urban areas. No need to wake up the neighbors.

I'd want to get rid of them permanently.....quick and easy....I would't torture them...

I'll say right here that I hate squirrels...a squirrel went into one of my bluebird boxes and killed the bluebird...I watched him go in....from then on I've wanted them gone....
