At Least Palin Hasn't Visited 57 States
Spectator.org ^ | 6/4/11 | Aaron Goldstein

I won't make excuses for Sarah Palin where it concerns Paul Revere. She didn't get it right. Not surprisingly, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams was in full smug when he said, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Palin's version of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."

Yet where was Brian Williams when Barack Obama said he had visited 57 states with one left to go during a campaign stop in Beaverton, Oregon in May 2008? You never heard Williams say, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Obama's version of American geography."

Let me add a little something. You are absolutely correct about the media. They don't like us. They never will. Republicans have to stop deluding themselves. The lesser of two evils is still evil. I hope Sarah runs for office. If she doesn't, I'll be staying home.

America is in a terrible state of affairs. Zero doesn't know how many states comprise the country. I can't believe we have sunk this low. Pathetic.

And incidently, my apologies for hurling the “imbicile” abuse at you. I was pretty irritated already after reading several other blogs, including some where historical documents proving Palin right were posted, and the hour was late. That abusive language is something that disgusts me when I occasionally venture into the comments section of some of the fever swamps of the left like Daily KOS, and I invariably feel like I need a bath after emerging from ten or fifteen minutes in those steaming cesspools. Commenters here at FR can get lively, but usually aren’t abusive, and I’ve resolved to behave myself. I suspect we’re in substantial agreement of many issues, and if you’re an imbicile, I guess I’d be one as well.

Matt Lauer from the Today Show interviewed a Captain in Iraq. Lauer kept leading the officer about how the situation was bleak and the war effort was a "quagmire." The Captain responded with positive comments. Lauer asked him why the American public saw things differently. The Captain responded (paraphrased) "If I got my information from the mainstream media, I'd have doubts about our progress, too."

He's right on target. The Republicans need a serious epiphany. The left will have their squabbles, but rarely budge when the iron's hot. They don't yield an inch. Republicans continue to creep inexorably to the left; they believe that by doing so, they will garner votes as they abandon their base. It's foolishness. They keep doing it, and for some reason they think that they will succeed despite a record of failure with this strategy.

Sarah, at least to me, is the best candidate for POTUS. I tend to refer to her as 'Sarah'; no disrespect at all. My understanding is that the people in Alaska called her 'Sarah' as well. Reading between the lines, it speaks of a certain accessibility.

As you know, the media will beat her up. I hope she realizes that there are many people think highly of her.

I want to walk into a voting booth feeling positive while casting my ballot.

Sarah is an intelligent person. A key to success will be choosing her advisers and cabinet members. I truly believe she has it in her.

Another point to make. If the Republicans attempt to sabotage her, they will be making a huge mistake. I'll never vote for them again. I mean it.

I'm sure that she is weighing the ruthlessness of the media with respect to her family. I would simply tell her this. Conservatives will see personal attacks on her for what they are. If she runs, as I said, think of all the people who see through the lies. Take heart that many of us are rooting for her. Focus on that.

>>I always think of the "Potatoe" incident with Dan Quayle. The left played this to the hilt. Seriously, how many people here have speald a word incorrectlty at sometime?? All of us?<<

No one has ever told you that Quayle actually took that spelling off the official card of the spelling bee officials as the actual correct English spelling of the word? It was another of the “stupid” or dishonest moments of the MSM that the gullible public swallowed.

Grizzled Bear informed me on post #60 that Quayle was set up with the card as you stated. I did not know this. Two FReepers saying the same thing...good enough for me. So sleazy.

Ya gotta love the way this bunch digs for the real truth don’t ya? I’ve never been around a bunch that does a better job of vetting truth.

You bet. Every time I log in I learn something. We all know that the Lamestream media has no regard for the truth, they lie about everything.
