I won't make excuses for Sarah Palin where it concerns Paul Revere. She didn't get it right. Not surprisingly, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams was in full smug when he said, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Palin's version of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."
Yet where was Brian Williams when Barack Obama said he had visited 57 states with one left to go during a campaign stop in Beaverton, Oregon in May 2008? You never heard Williams say, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Obama's version of American geography."

Ah, who doesn’t love Brian Williams ? Here’s a guy who has made millions looking like he’s taking a most difficult bowel movement on air.
Actually Palin was right. Most of us only remember the story of his ride from the poem by Longfellow which is fiction. Revere was caught by the British and interrogated. He did warn the British that the Americans were ready for them. Of course he provided them with inflated numbers.
This story is like the one the media climbed all over Palin for saying that we should “party like it’s 1773”. They all had a big laugh saying she didn’t know that the right year was 1776. Of course since she was talking to the Tea Party they should have checked to see what event took place in 1773. That event of course was the Boston Tea Party.
Yup, that’s the way it goes. The press went overboard on the phony Bush AWOL story and it lead the nightly news yet anyone who questions Obama’s birthplace is crazy.
She got it exactly right, imbicile.
That matters not to the moronic left.
Paul Revere was taken prisoner and during his interrogation deliberately provided greatly inflated numbers of militiamen awaiting the British at Concord.

This is a letter from Revere descring the events of the day.
The incident with the British is on page 4. Palin was indeed correct.

Perhaps, or from her reading of materials as she travels to the next locale. What I liked about her comments was how she brought up the still relevant warning on confiscating their arms. The current Tea Party is very similar to that of old.
And Palin is warning the country-side from her motorhome of the increasing seizures of the king from taxes, to firearms, to healthcare, to our jobs......

“Paul Revere somewhat in advance, the group of British officers of whom he had been told suddenly appeared in the road before him. Before he could make a movement to escape they were around him, and strong hands were upon his shoulders. The gallant scout was a prisoner in British hands.

But, as a measure of precaution, they took Revere’s horse and cut the girths and bridles of the others. This done, they rode away at full speed, leaving their late captives on foot in the road. But this the two messengers little heeded, as they knew that their tidings had gone on in safe hands.
While all this was taking place, indeed, Prescott had regained the road, and was pressing onward at speed. He reached Concord about two o’clock in the morning, and immediately gave the alarm. As quickly as possible the bells were set ringing, and from all sides people, roused by the midnight alarum, thronged towards the centre square. As soon as the startling news was heard active measures were taken to remove the stores. All the men, and a fair share of the women, gave their aid, carrying ammunition, muskets, cartridges, and other munitions hastily to the nearest woods.”
